It can be done on jackstands (I did my '16 Z). That being said, you need quite a bit of room. The larger you are the higher it needs to be. There is the large steel plate that has to be removed (about 28 bolts) & it is heavy & awkward to drop by yourself. Be sure to just loosen the 2 larger bolts that are in slots which allow you to remove all the other bolts, loosen last 2 in slots, then slide it to allow head of bolts to clear plate. Matching up the fwd pipe openings & gaskets is a bear also. It is overall a PITA & if claustrophobic at all you won't like it! Personally, if I did another one I would pay to have it done. So you might call around to get estimates. Good luck!
Install depends on your comfort level. There are a few videos out there for your review. Check them out and make your decision. I did mine by myself and I took my time. Completed job in 4 hours.
Super easy. I put mine on 4 jack stands. Took about an hour. Take out the tunnel pate bolts, x pipe hangers, two clamps that attach the x pipe to the axle back, and then the bolts and nuts that connect the factory pipe to the cats. Line everything up loosely and tighten up in reverse order. Once the car is on jack stands it's a super simple job.
Question on changing this out. Not sure if it matters to anyone. Does it void your factory warranty? Or change it back out if your car needs to go in for any work. Any help. Thanks.
