Total noob question...if you buy aftermarket wheels, what is the best process for getting them installed? Iassume this isn't something the dealer would do (maybe it is) and I know I am not handy enough for that. Put another way, I hate the GM OEM wheel options but how big of a deal is ordering a set online and getting the tires swapped and wheels installed?

Thanks!

If you are buying just the wheels, I would take them to a shop that has the equipment to deal with low profile tires in order to mount your current tires on the new wheels. I bought a wheel/tire package from Gerry at CW4L so all I had to do was jack up the car, take off the old wheels and tires, and mount the new ones.

I think "install" is a bit of a strong word when talking about wheels. You just jack the car up, take the lugs off, pull the old ones off, put the new ones on, put the lugs back and lower the car. As far as swapping tires, any decent tire and brake shop will be able to do it, just like if you're buying new tires for your factory wheels.

Haha thanks, install is indeed too strong. I wasn't planning on getting new tires at he same time so it is just the labor of swapping the tires. Appreciate the reply.

Most Discount Tire stores have the touch-less mounting machines and are trained to deal with the run-flats. If they don't have that machine, don't let them touch your wheels as they will almost surely wreck them.

This is VERY good advice. Find a shop that has experience with these sizes.

Yep, same as the one used on my wheels in Atlanta. Interesting to watch it work.

She needs a wash and the pictures don’t really do the wheels much justice.. will have to get some professional pictures taken soon!
