Default Engine removal ?

Hi as some of you remember i did have an engine failure this summer after only 2000 miles.
Insurance paid for new engine, and it was installed in Germany by Corvetteproject, a top notch corvette tuner/garage btw.

Now i struck a deal and have my engine rebuilt to proper standard, with better oiling, bearings, slightly more camshaft etc. etc.

I will remove engine and truck ship it down to Austria, and receive my "old" rebuild engine back and pay for the extra work + Mag 2300 on top :-)

BUT, all my experience with dissamble Corvette engine/drive train is C5 and C6, where i learned to love to drop both cradles and take the whole drive train down.

Should i do the same or is there any step by step trick to get only engine out ?

All/ any hint welcome

tia

btw.i remove front facia for cooling modifications and also hood is coming off, i have a 2 post and a 4 post

regards
Rune

C7 drivetrain isn't a lot different from C5 and C6. You can pull just the engine out, but I think the best option is still to drop both the front and rear cradles, if one has the equipment to do it easily. That's how they were originally installed.
I don't have the equipment to to do that easily, so I'd probably try to finagle the engine out the top with my engine hoist, on a first try,

I agree and even more so if you will be doing any other type of parts to the rear end of the car. Plus with every thing down & out you can really clean up ever little spot. Robert

See, and I disagree that dropping the whole drivetrain is the way to go. I think you are better just pulling the engine out the top. That's how all the shops do it now as its the fastest way. Heres a step by step if you want to see whats involved:
