Another Z06 with bent rims
Have you guys found out if anything can be done? Just got back from the dealer and they say all 4 wheels are bent and need replacing. 2017 C7 Z06 Z07 with only 12,000 miles...
Dealer says nope to warranty or good faith helping out.
On a side note, question: if all 4 wheels are bent, would that be a possible cause as to why it's pulling to the right too?

16 Z06 13400 miles 3 bent rims GM is deaf and dumb on this having dealers give us a song and dance. Owner on here with 19 Z06 1000 miles bent rim you know the story oh you hit a pot hole. Mine had no tire damage no dukes hazard driving 33 corvettes no bent rims ever 2 04 Z06s, 9/12 Z06s no bent rims. Somebody with more pull than I have needs to call COO of GM.

Just agreed to purchase a new Z06 and the dealer (Criswell) wants to sell me a 5 year, no mileage maximum, warranty on wheels and tires. What's the verdict on whether or not to buy this? I never have bought any insurance plan on any of my cars, but when I see stories like this thread has, I start to wonder.....thoughts?

It's absolutely insane that less than 1 year of driving and I have to purchase new wheels. Tires lasted longer than that.

Get the insurance policy or plan to buy better wheels. My insurance covered everything but I got tired of replacing wheels so I went with some new Forgeline wheels from CW4L.

Anyone having bent or cracked rims "should" file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Just fill out the electronic form which registers your complaint with our government. Only when enough people have done this GM will be forced to address this wide-spread, safety related problem that's costing many Corvette owners big $$$. Here is the link. Please follow up. It's the least you can do for all owners.

I just did a search on this site for registered complaints related to bent/cracked wheels on the C7 and there are 8 complaints filed so far. Will you be #9???

Someone posted here a brand new 2019 z had 4 bent rims. The car was still at the dealer in new car get ready. This guy posted Evidently at the factory they run the car over a series of speed bumps at the factory to settle the suspension. I don’t know if this is a true story or a bunch of bs.
It would be interesting to see if a higher percentage of the bent rims are on chrome, the standard nickel color or the black or spectra gray wheels. Gm really cut corners on these cars.

Is there a consensus on which style wheels are most often bent? Or is it just a random and unfortunate luck of the draw? I know as a corvette owner we take pretty good care of our cars and don't bounce off curbs and hit speed bumps at 70; so like you Z owners, I believe this is a factory problem. I'm looking to trade my C7 2015 on a lightly used 17/18/19 Z and any thoughts would be appreciated. - thanks tom

Is there an aftermarket wheel/tire warranty that can be bought AFTER the car has been purchased, and just curious, does anyone know the wheel vendor GM outsources to, or are the wheels made in house by GM?

The best direction file a complaint and mention safety hazard with department of transportation. I just had a rim split at the hat on another car i own. Tore like a pie plate doing 30 miles an hour. Get the information out to the right agency and GM will have to comply! I believe the rims are low bid items and are not being quality control inspected.

There is truly something wrong with our wheels. I had 2 bent, not hitting anything, but managed to get them replaced under warranty, pure luck. I was going to get the insurance but it was $1,000 with a company with a poor reimbursement records and poor reviews. I could not get insurance after the purchase so I self insure with some money put away in case I get a bent one again. Very frustrating to say the least and the factory wheels are not cheap at $500-$600.
