I'm in the market for a new set of wheels for my 16' Z06. I want to put all seasons on the new wheels for daily driving so I don't have to worry about standing water, cold temps, or cracked wheels. I was looking at the Forgeline VX-1's that look very similar to the stock rims but found a price of 6 thousand dollars lol. This seems crazy considering a set of the stock wheels is below 2k. Does anyone have a recommendation for a wheel that I wont have to worry about cracking, looks good, and is closer to 2k?

I'm on my third set of forgestars. Never had a problem.
I think it's the run flats of the PSS's that contribute to most, if not, all cracking of the OEM wheels.
I switched to conti extremecontact sport. Although a summer tire, made my car drive A LOT better compared to the PSS's.
I think michelin has an AS tire in our sizes, might wanna give that a look. As far as wheels, not a lot you can get with a budget of 2k besides going with a spare set of OEM replicas, or forgestars.
I vote for forgestars because you can custom make the finish you want and the offsets you want.
Thanks Rob. I will take a look at the Forgestars. I'm running the Cup 2's on stock wheels now. I want to keep these tires on the stock wheels for track days and get a second set of wheels with all seasons for daily driving. I could just get another set of the stock wheels but with the cracking issue it seems like a no brainier to go with aftermarket wheels instead. I'm not saying my budget is 2k just looking for something reliable and good looking for closer to 2k than 6k.

You might consider perusing the For Sale forum here on the CF. Many times you can find deals there. Just be on the lookout though staying away from OEM wheels, getting pics, and asking owners about scratch and dent issues. You could just find yourself getting a nice set of wheels and save big.
Forged wheels are alot more than the cast stock wheels thats for sure. We run Forgelines on all our C7Zs and not the cheapest but 25 yrs in the forged wheel market and use only the best APP forgings. We have specials on Forgelines and if you have any questions call/text 440-915-6166 anytime.
Heres my C7R w Forgeline VX1s

I second the Forgestar suggestion. I have a set on my Z and my wife's C300. They look great, and you can get them in whatever size/finish you want. I really like the Signature Wheels, but I didn't want to spend that much on wheels.
My take: You bought a Corvette Z06, not a Camaro, not a Mustang, not a base Stingray. Get a good set of forged Monoblocks. Whether you get them at $3k-4k used or $6k new your car deserves them. After that you won't worry about your wheels again. And why use heavy stock wheels on the track when you can run light forged wheels? Use the new wheels as track wheels and your stock wheels with MPSSs on the street.
I was in the same boat as you. I looked at used forged wheels as a cheaper alternative. I decided it wasn't worth the risk of buying used, as forged wheels will bend/runout also if run hard. I bought a set of Vorsteiner VFF-103 for around $2K. They are 15 lbs lighter than stock, look good, and ride great.
Everybody's budget is different. I have 3 piece forged HRE 547's on another car I own, I like them too.
The Vorsteiner's are going to be the best choice near the $2k mark. They look great on the C7 but more importantly will withstand all-season abuse.
If you wanted to stretch the budget just a little bit to get into a premium brand you could do the HRE 540's that would be a tad under $5k when spec'd properly. These 540's are custom built to order and manufactured from 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum. You also receive a wheel that is built here in the U.S. and with legendary build quality.
A step under that price range would be Rotiform which allows you to choose from any of their 100+ models and built them in 3-piece configuration with any size & finish for sub $5k. Also built in the United States.

Just be aware that the 2K price will buy you flow-forged wheels not mono block forged ones; those will get you up to around $4K minimum. Flow forged are not as strong as mono blocks
I just bought some Ace Alloys myself not too long ago for about $1600 for the set, shipped. AFF06s in stock size setup. I'd post pics, but it's still in the shop. I was shopping around for quite a while before I pulled the trigger on those and while it is true that your options are limited under $2k, it's not difficult to find something in that price range at all.

"Flow forged" is just a fancy word for cast wheels, You factory wheels on the z06 are relatively cheap cast wheels, made in China or Mexico.
Personally, i put Black Chrome Forgeline AR1 s on my z06.

Actually flow forged is more of a hybrid, using aspects of both casting AND forging. It's not just a fancy word for cast. https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles...st-part-three/ BTW, do you have better pics? Those wheels look like they are pretty sweet, but it's hard to tell in that pic as it's super washed out

Sweet! :Absolutely perfect.
Vorsteiners for sale, lol
What do they weigh? Are they approved for track use?

Yes, Forgeline can manufacture them to withstand track use. Weight will ultimately depends on the fitment that you choose (19||19 vs 19||20, width, offset, etc). Email me if you'd like to chat more about the Forgeline options.

CAN manufacture to withstand track use? So normally they don't? If the factory "cheap chinese" cast wheels can take track use, pretty much any wheel can. It's not like if a wheel isn't forged, it's going to fold like origami when you take a sharp corner.
