Can not wait until GM finally releases the C8 officially then we can have real debates on cost, looks, and performance.

I will keep my C7 Z06 and add a C8 when I'm ready. It won't be a first year C8. I'll wait for the one that has the most hp that's not a hybrid.

I have had my c7z since 6/15 and i still love it as much as the day i picked it up. I am excited to see the new mid engine c8. I’m not ready to jump in on the first year. Unless it has more headroom, carbon fixed seats, MT and at least 600hp NA. Has to have a MT. It’s one of my favorite things about driving my vette. I don’t get to drive it often but when i do i love rowing my own, and I don’t care that its not as fast as an automatic. I don’t get paid to win races, i drive on the track because I’m addicted to scaring myself around corners and banging gears.

I drove a rear engine 911 cab for 10 years and have tested a few mid engine cars. I am only six months into my new Z06 and am so happy its going to be a real challenge to convince me a more expensive mid-engine is a better option for me any time soon. I know we all must evolve but i will need some time ....................

Ok...read Post #7 short bus rider. I answered his question from what I read a couple days ago; which was an article on the front page of this forum. I could care less how much it cost.

If the C8 will be north of 160k, I will be looking at other options. GM will lose some business if they don't price it right.

Its a fact this new design will have lots of initial problems. I'd buy a 3rd or 4th production year but I do not foresee myself buying a C8, it looks weird. To change a near 70 YO design will take time to adjust those new looks.

I am very excited about the new mid engine, C8, Corvette. Kinda doubted if it would ever happen but apparently it will be presented to the public in the not to distant future. Good for GM investing in their flagship sports car which has been an American icon since the middle of the last century. The Corvette will change more in one year than it has in the last 50 and as stated above this is a game changer for sure. The Corvette audience will expand greatly with this new configuration whether front engine fist pounders believe so or not. It is however almost shocking to observe the posts from more than just a few enthusiasts who are convinced that a 1st year, base model, C8 will be stickered at $160,000 or above. This is NOT going to happen, not a chance. The constant in the Corvette equation has always been a degree of affordability and this will not change keeping in mind that pick up truck prices are rapidly marching on the 6 figure mark in dressed fashion.

With the announcement that GM and Ford are both getting out of the passenger car market, I also think the expanded Bowling Green plant may make room for the next generation Camaro in addition to the C8 Corvettes as the two models will be sharing many of the same performance components.

Why is everyone knocking the c8 already? Gm hasn't gone backwards with the Corvette with each generation. It got better and better and with the technology we have now you think this is gonna be the time they fail to deliver. With GM's flagship model the corvette?
the c8 is going to be epic. Everyone needs to stop pre justifying themselves on why they wont upgrade. We all know we all want to and eventually will.

Jeeeeezus Dude, why don't you let them go into service before you call 911. This reminds me of the guys who claimed that the ZR1s had overheating problems before a single one of them was delivered to an end user. Simply amazing.

BTW:
1. You didn't answer his question. Until GM announces the pricing structure of the C8 platform everything is just pure conjecture.
2. Then you said, "I could care less how much it cost." - If you could care less then why did you bother to reply to the person wondering about the price? I guess your ego got the better of you, huh?
3. GM isn't going to throw decades of pricing structure out of the window & more than triple the price of a base model Vette so that only 1%s can afford to buy one. That would be a brilliant move on GM's part if their goal was to kill off the Vette completely.
4. There might end up being some limited production high horsepower top end model of the C8 that costs high 6 figures but not a base model in the 1st year.
Sensible people have no issues admitting that other than their opinions/speculation they don't have any concrete facts about the price, what it's going to look like exactly, how much power it will have, what it will be called, & what the various versions of the car will entail. But reasonable people are at least able to apply common sense to the pricing question & deduce that GM won't stray too far from the past as it relates to pricing the base model during the first year. If the C8 is going to be rear mid-engine only then GM isn't going to take the pricing structure of the Vette that has worked for decades, making Vettes affordable for tens of thousands of average people per year, & just scrap it all so they can build a small number of some 'boy wonder rear mid-engine' cars for a few rich people.
