Default Drag Radials

I'm looking for some help in selecting a set of drag radials/wheels for my 2018 Carbon 65.

My plan is to change out the rear wheels on race day and I'm hoping there is a simple wheel/tire combination that is relatively problem free and doesn't create problems with ABS, rubbing, etc. Ease of use and being problem free is actually a higher priority than having the best traction. I'm looking to improve on street tire times, but not at the cost of computer, stability issues. Also, any specifics on wheel size/offset/width would be appreciated. Is there an absolute best combination?

I've done a search and previous posters seem to agree to stay away from the MT's, lot's of folks like the Hoosiers, although there are several suggestions on size.

If any of you have experience on the best, most problem free wheel/tire combinations/sizes, etc. I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks

Nittos fit well. MT ET S/S hook the best and fit perfect but are squirrelly without dedicated proper fronts too, and maybe even then. They discontinued them, so if they're available again, might be a new design?

Are there any 20" drag radial options currently? I have gm optional wheels and haven't seen any 19" replicas of the wheels i have. I drive the radials on the streets in the summers so im not worried about maximizing my 60' times or anything, just need a softer compound that will grip better on the street

Stay away from MT's? Maybe the first batch of 20" MT S/S that were released. Seemed to be a bad batch. Plenty of guys including me are running the MT. The SS is a great street tire, phenomenal grip. Above avg at the track the ET Street R and Hoosier are the fastest tires ive seen from forum users.

For street use, a tire you wont pucker your *** during some light rain, won't feel super sloppy taking turns at decent speed... The MT SS and Nitto 555r are my two recommendations. These two also have decent tread life. The others are phenomenal at the track and dry street straight line but its the trade off...

All the manufacturers have sites, find the sizes you need on your rim width.

There's been a lot of favorable feedback on the Toyo R888r, giving excellent straight-line traction, and not giving anything up in handling or cornering. Haven't tried them myself.

The runflats up front are the biggest issue when running DR’s. Swap to a non run flat up front and all the DR’s drive well, I’ve tried the Nitto’s, M/T SS and R’s and even Hoosiers. Best for everyday use was the Nitto 345’s on 19” repros.

How about the Toyo’s In the rear, with run flats in front? For normal street use.

I will be running 345 X 30 X 19 Nitto NT05R's on 19 X 12 repos for the drag strip and some street duty next summer. Going to R888R's on the rear for general street. Will stick with the stock Z07 rims and PRR's for travel.
