Default Dealers know the 100-Octane tune?

Having problem locally (Dayton, OH) getting a dealer to install the 100-Octane tune on my 2016 Z06. Anyone else have this problem? Any recommendations? Really wanna get this done...

Jeff Schmidt East, Beavercreek. Made two appointments and they've "lost" both of them...kinda taking that as a hint they don't wanna mess with it.

When I call the service guy I dealt with, they transfer me to some random person, again, knows nothing.

go to the dealer with copy I gave you.order part number from parts counter,$350.when it comes in all it is is a code they enter after calling tech center for download.simple.if you do this you have to run min. 93 octane.my car runs fine on 93,but better when I run 100.

Maybe it is how you asked the question. Dealerships get a lot of people coming in the door asking for things that shouldn't be done unless there is a problem the code or repair is designed to correct. Just think of all the people that try to get all of the TSBs performed on their cars when their cars don't have problems the TSB was developed to address. They put up with a lot of BS from Customers and sometimes you have to make sure you aren't perceived as just another one of the many bungholes that walk into the shop asking for all of the wrong things.

sure, that's possible, but I explained the purpose and gave them the part number, and it was crikets...

It’s a GM Performance Parts Upgrade, go to a certified Chevy Performance dealer and you’ll have less trouble.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I think Jeff Schmidt is just swamped with work right now, didn't mean to pick on them.

With this information sheet I called the Parts guys and I seem to be making progress. Thanks for the assist.

Wow, that was eye-opening. The only performance dealer anywhere near me (Zip 45305) is a Buick/GMC dealer (Reichard), I'll give them a call...

Thanks!

Ahh, didn't realize it was a GM upgrade.

Shaggy is right on. Have the dealer upload the tune. When the dealer does the upload the warranty remains in effect. And its GM software so its pretty much going to be glitch free.

If Schmidt remains uncooperative, try Voss. There are two Vette techs there, both very competent. In fact, one has been rated one of the top GM techs in the country.

I'll do that. I talked to Reichard (the local GM Performance Dealer) and they said to call VOSS...LOL

The Voss Corvette service writer is Brandon. His number is 428-2529.

Where do you buy 100 octane fuel? Not that I've been searching but its a bit of knowledge that has the potential to be helpful.

Duncan Oil has a few locations around. One close to me is on Factory Rd, fill up some race cans and take it home.

But you can still use 93 in the car from all the searching and reading I've done on the various forums...
