Mine is tied to boost (as most are). Only comes up at a certain boost level and ramps up the more you get on it. If it fails to spray, fail safes kick in.

And what are these "fail safes?". If meth doesn't spray (runs out, pump failure, etc), then the car can run lean if it's being used for fuel.
Mine is tied to the MAF sensor. I have had to replace the pump twice, annually it seams. The seals are the weak link in the system. The change is easy in experienced hands. I do run 100% meth in my system so that has been known to shorten the life of the seals. Your tuner will be able to better cover failsafes as I am sure each has their way of doing it. Just don't make yourself meth dependent and you will be OK.

You mean only use it to cool IAT rather than as a fuel?
Depends on what your individual tuner does but in short; limp mode, pull timing and switch to a different fuel table.
How can our tune be adjusted so this happens? If the meth fails on a lean tune the engine goes lean. Never heard of a way to switch to a safer tune. Only truly failsafe way I know with methanol is a failsafe kit like the AEM 30-3020 kit. Or install a nozzle size and meth/water percent so if your meth spray fails the engine still runs safely.
