I agree! I ended up buying a 2017 C2S until the 992’s come out. I like the fact that they will all be wide bodies as I prefer that look as well. I also favor the wide body C7 models......but it appears the C8 may be going the other way with all being narrow bodies if the rumor mill is correct.

Neither. Rob and I are Co-Owners of a chain of Porsche dealerships. We just sold our Chevrolet store when I got rid of my C7. We acquire and sell dealerships more often than you do your underwear! When you grow up Punky maybe you can do the same. Until then, be happy with where you are in life.....and continue to dream

Again you can learn a thing or two from the Audi Burlingame guys. There’s a classy Porsche dealer. I know you’re in a small market but there’s that dreaming about being better thing...
Back on topic, the z06/ zr1 fill a fantastic niche when one already has a go to work car like bmw/ Porsche/ merc.
For.

But to go back on topic somewhat, i wonder if the C8 will have an AWD version. Some articles rumored the hybrid version could be 1000hp and AWD. But i would imagine close to 200k. That's porsche 911 turbo S money.
Crap! Said turbo 911 again

.......and he is alive! Damn, I see you are a fan boy by nature.....nothing wrong with loyalty though. We only deal with buyers with excellent credit, but I realize others may be more flexible with who they may choose to finance. You’re probably where you belong. Good luck on your Porsche purchase. Would love to see a pic if you get it done.

I would not be surprised to see AWD offered on a C8....but I don’t think Corvette would have many buyers at $200K. That price point opens the door to a market Corvette has never played in.

Assuming this is still a serious topic. A few thoughts.
1) VIR is my personal benchmark for what I want a Z to do. Mero knocked 4 seconds off his Grand Course time with the ZR1 V's Z06. Is 4 seconds worth $70K? For some.
2) Poorsha ran 1:57 with a Z06 for full course. Still waiting for his ZR1 time, unless I missed it. That will tell me what mere mortals are capable of in the ZR1.
3) Don't know that I've heard M7's overheating or heat-soaking but maybe I missed it. I ran this week in 74* weather, certainly not hot, but if you think 16 more degrees is going to push a Z06 over its cooling limits than you really don't understand engineering and car cooling.
4) I hot lapped for 8 hours, 30mins on track, 30mins off track. My straightaway speeds were within 3mph lap after lap regardless of beginning of session,or end of session.
5) Finally I don't recall Poorsha ever posting about overheating or heat-soaking and he's pushed the Z06 harder than anyone I know.
6) Finally, 100* track days suck for cars and people so why do it? LOL

Are you sure about that? Was this before the Z06 MRC update? For VIR Grand West, Mero drove a 2017 Z06/Z07 with the MRC update, ran 2:39.77, and with the ZR1, ran 2:37.25, about 2.5 seconds faster. At Willow Springs, Randy Pobst with the Z06, ran 1:25.0 and with the ZR1, 1:23.7, 1.3 seconds faster. In both cases, lap times are a bit less than 1.6% faster with the ZR1,and both tracks include some high speed sections. Both cars are traction limited in 1st gear, and nearly so in 2nd gear, so it's a case of diminishing returns for both cars, being FE RWD cars, and it's not until close to 100 mph that the ZR1 has a significant advantage over the Z06. For those that don't track (circuit or drag) their cars, it's a case of: if just knowing they have more power even though they would rarely use it, is worth the difference in price, along with if they like the looks of the ZR1 more than the Z06.

Just to add a bit of sanity to this post. I never thought I'd see a $425,000 Ford.

I was looking at the STICKY above with posted track times for VIR only. If it’s not being updated it could absolutely be incorrect. Again I think we’re arguing the same point, is it worth double the price to shave 1 or 2 seconds a lap. For some the answer will always be yes.

You and your internet wingman "own a chain of Porsche dealerships", sure you do. I actually laughed out loud when I read that BS. This is honestly some of the best free entertainment on the planet. Please, please, keep it coming as there are surely more than a couple of us on board and ROFL at this internet nonsense.
BTW, "Dr.", I got rid of my C7 also, when my partners and I sold the QE II. LOL!

But if they do make it, we should stock them at our Porsche dealer. See which consumers want more, a 911 turbo or a c8 lol
