Default 3M and splash guards

Just picked up my 2019 ceramic matrix grey z06......its in storage til spring however getting ideas. Was considering Xpel 3m on whole front clip, hood, doors and full rear quarters and windshield pillars. Has anyone had this done and how did the 3m look? Does it take away from the finish of the paint? Highways and freeways are always a rock chip challange here in Edmonton Alberta.....anyone running any decent splash guards? Aside from Apsis is there any other vendor that offers a full splash guard replacement for the front fender? Thanks

I did the front 18 inches, mirrors, and rockers. I also added the GM splash guards and ACS side skirts. And, for long road trips, I use the Novistretch bra and mirror covers. No rock chips on the car at 14K miles, though the sides of the side skirts have a couple of scratches on the part where they curve outward toward the rear.

Many do not like the Xpel line at the 18 inch point on the fenders and hood. Doesn't bother me.....every car I've owned for the past 15 years have had it....

My 2019 Z06 went right into my garage when I bought it in December. I’m in the winter time. I have the ACS XL front and rear rock guards on it. Put them on before I covered it. There brand new and they look really good. I bought them because I was not going to get my car wrapped. Well that changed. Having my black Z paint correction done before I have it fully wrapped. So I might be selling my Rock guards. The ACS Composites are very nice.

Don't do it! Put the ACS front guards (are they the XL model?) back on. Believe me, the stone chips can be a mighty force and paint chips can happen quite easily with Ceramic coatings (they are basically worthless for protection) and chips can occur even with PPF, includingg Xpel Ultimate. In my experience, you will need those rock guards!! As I recall, you live in PA, which is where I live. The PA DOT idea of snow and ice control is tons of salt and anti skid (little rocks). If you're lucky, that anti skid is gone by July. Your beautiful black car can be ruined by then...trust me, that's why I sold by 2016 and bought a new one....both black coupes!!

Thank you for the info. Maybe I better hold on to them. I know I’m going to remove them till my car gets done. I know Pa. is not good with the road salt. Where you at in Pa? Also yes they are the XL guards.

Western, PA, outside of Pittsburgh. I had my new Z06 shipped in to me from Maryland on December 28th and moved it from the trailer into my garage, checked her out and put a car cover over it and plugged in the battery tender. I left for FL 3 days later and I'm still here. Can't wait to get home and see my little precious one! Western, PA winters kill a car's finish, Penn DOT is just crazy with road control. We get pot holes you can bust an axle in and now the flavor of the day with Penn Dot is to tar and chip roads in the summer! It REALLY is difficult to enjoy a nice car in my area! Down here in FL, the roads are all clean and clear, 3 to 4 lanes of asphalt in each direction, cruise at 80 mph on I- 75....wish I had my new Z06 down here!

Sounds nice!! Yeah your a couple of hours from me. But it is the same here. The famous tar and chip has to be the worst. Yeah my car is getting trailer near the end of March to the detail shop for the paint correction and then trailer to where the wrap is being installed so it won’t be driven. Florida sounds nice at this time . I cannot wait to drive mine also.

Anybody have pics of their car with the ACS XL Rock Guards front and rear installed? ( Like a side shot showing front and rear guards) I am considering this for my car but would like to see them installed before I pull the trigger.

Thanks!

LOVE the XL rock guards. I think they look great and the best part is their functional, too! I had the ACS extended splash guards before hand and did a comparison video of the 2. It's easy to see the XL rock guards are higher quality, offer more protection, and overall just look better on the car.

I have a picture showing the XL rock guards from the alongside the door as well as a picture showing a similar angle with the ACS extended splash guards.
