Now Bill Dearborn, I have a lot of respect for your knowledge and driving capability of the Z06....it is well deserved, for sure. But, for you to say that buying an SS eliminator is a waste of money, come on now, it's $20-25! All you have to do is run through a few dozen postings on this Forum and see that many members are spending (or at least claim to be spending) thousands of dollars regularly, on their Z06. Give the person a break if he wants to blow a few bucks on a skip shift eliminator...maybe he doesn't like the car telling him how he wants to drive it!
It isn't the amount it is the idea that you have to change the car to avoid something happening. The C6 CAGS could be stopped by using a blown out LED fuse that lights up when it is blown. That fuse cost about $2 and was easier to install than the CAGS. Still a waste of money. $25 is about 8 gallons of premium gas where I live. That is worth far more than something that the vast majority of people don't need if they use their brain so it is a waste of money. The car isn't telling them how to drive. They can be aggressive as they want to be and even fairly docile. As I said it only happens when traffic is slow and you can't hit the throttle like you normally can. You don't have to spend the money or get under the car to install the part. Just use the old noggin instead. Hopefully, most people still find doing that free.

Now William, what is the matter with you? Some of us (whether it's a few or a majority) find the skip shift feature annoying. I seriously doubt that very many of us in that group are simple minded degenerates that just can't figure out how to drive the car without engaging the skip shift feature....it 's my belief that it is simply a feature that we find is a PIA from time to time. There is that ultra low cost device ($20-25) that cost me nothing to have installed (I had the dealer mechanic install it when he changed the oil...took him about 3 minutes when it was on the rack) and bingo, it works just the way my very old manual transmissions did. I guess maybe that doesn't make me or any of the others purists with the Z06, but I'm OK with that.
