Really like this guy's videos. A little on the dramatic side, but they're well shot and edited.

He seems impartial too.

Interesting. So, are these typical results? If so, wow.

The little fellow didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know. Pretty close up to 120-140mph. After that on the big End the c7z falls down

I don't know how true this is though.
I raced my friend's hellcat charger and i beat him to 140. But this was from a roll to eliminate any "skill" needed for a good launch. I have a manual and of course he has the amazing ZF 8 speed. He made 680rwhp and he had a passenger. I only had at the time xpipe and PTB. And i'm not the best driver and i started in 3rd. So i only needed to shift once.
But damn you can see from the vid how much better the ZF shifts up and down vs a GM A8 lol.

Owning both I can say it went down exactly as I would guess. From a dig the Z jumps way out only to be reeled in up top. I’d be curious as to how the Z would pull with all the aero bits pulled off.

Great video.
Hellcats are strong for sure but like the first post pointed out they are also traction-impaired and are several hundred pounds heavier that our Zs.
Anyways, at the last 1/2 mile event in a Virginia I ran against several Hellcats and lost to none. My trap speed was on average 152 MPH while hellcats was about 149-150.
Few vids below.

I think at the time, I only had Corsa X pipe and was running Cup2s which offer better traction than the stocks rears on hellcats.....but I was still spinning through 4th gear; I have a 7-speed.
the issue w the hellcats from a stop is definitely a lack of traction but on most, if not all of my runs, I pulled away at about the 1/4 mark suggesting that the lack of traction is not the only reason the Zs are pulling away on 1/2 mile runs.

2016 Z06-A8 vs 2016 hellcat A8
My buddy and I go to the strip frequently together.
When both of our cars were “stock”, except CAI and DR’s my vette was always faster, (at the quarter mile). Typically the difference was 3/10 of a second... I expect some of that would be recovered by the hallcat, by the 1/2 mile.

OP - it seems you're using the paddles in every video. While this may enhance the feeling of involvement and theatrical effect (which may be why you're doing it) using paddles is not optimal in a drag race. Use them to get into the optimal gear to start a roll race, but once WOT, put the shifter back into D. This will get you the best results and also eliminate driver error.

@Da Z06 I've found that stock C7Z's will trap anywhere between 148-152 depending on aero package, trans, and driver. Obviously there are anomalies and outliers to that range. Don't know too much about Hellcat's but seem to be around 154-158MPH, so consistently faster by a hair.
@RegnaR Thanks! I still have my C7Z, the Hellcat was a rental for a few episodes
@MYVetteBy25 My channel relies heavily on acceleration testing as it's foundation and I do all my tests with both full auto and paddle shifting. I usually agree that the computer is smarter than us. But I found that, with the Hellcat, in the 1/2 mile, full auto didn't gain me anything over shifting manually. I did 3 runs with each mode, all the 60-130 results were +/- 0.06 seconds of each other and the fastest time actually came out to being shifted manually which is the posted time on the board.

Re: hellcats trapping in high 150s is totally believable but again, I think their limitation is traction from a dig. However, there were a few example Z vs Hellcat from 30mph and Zs came in on top (not to say that Hellcats don't have traction issues even 30mph).
Anyone attending the 1/2 mile Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack in Colorado this summer? Would be great to see more examples of Z vs HC.
