My 2019 ZO6 convertible is the most beautiful enjoyable car I've ever owned. I did an R8C delivery on February of 2018, the first "19 Delivered at that time. It sits in an air conditioned garage most of the time, only getting wet when washed. Over the weekend with the news of the C7 coming to an end this summer, I thought I would look into possibly trading for what appears to be a 1year ZR1 production. I reached out to two Florida dealers to look at the numbers........ Purchasing a 19 ZR1 is not the issue. Getting a reasonable offer for my relatively brand new ZO6 Vert was! My car stickered for $100k. I was fortunate to have employee pricing available, so I paid slightly less. Today I was offered a high of $65k and a low of $62K. I was in the retail car business for a good portion of my life and no expectations that the purchase of this beautiful car would be anything but a cost of doing business for such a wonderful exotic toy. A roughly 40% depreciation within 1 year of ownership is laughable. Fortunately I have no problem enjoying this stunning piece of work for many years to come, but thought I'd share this for those might not.....
Considering so many think these cars should be sold at at least 20% off MSRP it’s not surprising. I paid 87k for 100k MSRP 17Z so I’m in the same situation. This is why I say drive them and enjoy. They will deprecate just like other cars. I don’t think ZR1s will fair much better.

Bingo. We had a 2018 C7 Z51 A8 that was 74K sticker, and at max discount hit $56k and change. OP's car, if it sat around for the discounts could have been bought for near 20k off MSRP.
No car loses 40% of its retail cost in 1 year. Not even undesirable cars like a low end Kias do that. Is the drool-inducer in the pictures above an undesirable car? Of course not. Your car is obviously worth more to trade in than what they are offering, in normal times. However, consider the poor dealer who has lots of 2019's to move. Taking on another just competes with his inventory clear out that must be done by summer. He made the offer not expecting you to take it, and you didn't. I'll bet if you try the same inquiry 12 months from now, same dealer, they would offer over $70K. Its just the weird situation we have now, caused by Chevy. Z06 owners should simply refrain from trading in their Z06's for a year unless of course the 2019 they want to buy is a phenomenal deal...then its all relative, right?
Funny thing is, you have one of the hardest to find Z06's - non-1LZ vert with M7. I ended up settling for a discounted 2017 leftover A8 in the colors and configuration I was looking for, figuring the paddle shifters might be a reasonable substitue for an M7. Wrong. So now I factory ordered the same car with an M7 from Mike at Criswell. I figured if I want an M7, I had better do it now. Unfortunately, it is the M7 that is probably what's killing you here in Florida. From all of my looking at inventory of Florida dealers and surrounding states, A8s rule the roost. Dealer stock would have more M7's if that's what most of their customers wanted. That is a beautiful C7, OP.

He would then have to pay full Florida 6% sales tax on the ZR-1. That's probably why he was looking to trade.

That's only $4550 tax savings on the trade. Where is the other $7-10K? Anyway, trading in a heavily discounted car for one with no discounts, you have to expect to take a bath on the deal. Are ZR1's really worth $130K? Think of the value collapse in a year or two, especially when the 750+ hp C8 arrives.
People have been getting brand new $100k Zs for mid-high 70s for years. Believe someone recently posted almost $25K off. Dealers know what these cars are worth. At $65K offer dealer is hoping for $70ish used sale which is market.
Those that pay near MSRP find this out when trying to get out early. If you go through cars quickly it’s critical to buy them right.

How much would you actually pay for your car if you saw it on a used car lot? When you consider that many people on this forum demand 20% off a new C7Z, I'd be surprised if anyone would be willing to pay more than $75k for your used car.
The $65,000 offer comes out to around $69,000 when you factor in the sales tax savings, which isn't bad. The dealer has to carry your used car in his inventory and is entitled to some profit.
Just goes to show that driving it 1000 miles a year, keeping it in a bubble for 4-5 months out of the year and washing it and wiping it down with god's hands using a diaper does NOTHING.
Go out and enjoy these cars. Use them a couple of years, dump them and get a new toy.
All i ever heard on the social media corvette groups are people just admiring their cars in their garage and wiping it down when there is no reason to. And meeting up so you can sit in a park parking lot looking at corvettes all day. If they were crazy modified i can understand but most people who attend car shows have stock *** cars. If i wanted to see a bunch of stock *** corvettes i'll go to my nearest chevy dealer!! LOL
I'd say most c7 z06's are worth $60k-70k as is right now.
Trim doesn't matter at all on the used market, nobody really cares enough to pay more so you are stuck competing with the same 1LZ guys like me who don't lose as much. You literally lose every dollar on the options/trim above 1LZ base.

I agree with that.

The car above was listed for 106,055.00 and I paid 86k delivered to my driveway, sold it 2 years later for 85k, in 13 Corvette purchases this is the first time I came close to breaking even, because it doesn't happen. I loved my convertibles, but they lost money faster than my coupes on average.
I sold my $105k 2015 Z07 for $60k private party last September which I purchased in September 2015. It had 32k miles.
The problem in the State of Nevada is you lose your pro rata sales tax refund if you sell private party. Be careful of that. I still made out a bit ahead given the trade in offers from dealerships.
