Default Does it really matter??

Hey everyone I am kind of doing my research before I buy my C7-Z and I've got a question you for you guys in the know. Pre '17 models had the over heating issue from what I have seen> Was that just on the track they seen that issue or did it also happen when just cruising around town? I don't ever plan to track my car, But I may be in traffic doing cruises or parade or shows who knows. I just don't want to have that as something I would be worried about. If it's not a problem then I could save some cash by shopping for a 15 or 16 model instead of a 17. Thanks

I believe the over heating issues is for those who track their cars. I have a 2016 Z and have not had any issues with overheating. I live in the bay area and get in bumper to bumper traffic sometimes and it hasn't been an issue. The only issue is my left foot gets tired at times.

I have a 2016 Z06 A8, my car has never over heated or gone into "limp Mode": with that said I have never tracked the car so I can't say if my car would or would not over heat at the track.

I have a 2015 z06 m7 and sat in bumper to bumper traffic due to multiple accidents in the middle of July with the ac going. It took 1.5 hours to go 3 miles and the car never over heated at all. I have long tube arh headers and I have the o2 extension wires zip tied as far away as possible from the exhaust and on that day the plastic wire looms around the wires got hot enough to start to deform. I have since wrapped everything with heat tape but the car never overheated so you won't have an issue as long as your coolant is topped off and free of air bubbles in the system.

My 2016 A8 Z06/Z07 never overheated, not even close on extreme street / Highway driving. Tracking a different story. I had to install LG Motorsports supercharger coolers. My IAT was too high so the Z went into limp mode, could not pull enough timing. Coolant and oil tempt where still in safe range. If you don't intend to track, any year C7 Z06 will be a great purchase!!

2016 m7. Always play with the car in the summer with the ac on. 3 summers going on 4 this summer. Never had temps over 225f.

I even bought my car on the hottest day in summer in 2016. 2.5 hour drive home. Temp never saw over 220f

I personally have a M7, but the A8 overheating issues were all track related to my knowledge. I believe you will be fine for your intended use.

you will be fine unless something is actually wrong with the car.

at a track rental in 70f air my buddy ran his modified (no additional coolers) A8 over and over.. 10 runs in all. some back to back 3 minutes apart and the car was within hundredths on each run and some were even quicker and faster after others.. don't believe the hype. unless you're on track and leave it in auto or wind the heck out of it IN HOT WEATHER you will not have any issues.

here's a PDR 0 to 100mph plus vid where the car goes faster each time in 75f air.. with a passenger..
