Was it partially a charity auction? People with big money pay big dollars for the write off.

Lotta money in some people’s checking account.

100% charity car. all 2.7 goes to the charity.

I was a little surprised the last C7 wasn't a ZR1 which would have been more rare.

With C7 production ending in September, how many final production look alike Z06's will be built?
Meaning Black with a 7 speed manual.

And here is what they use the $$$ for via the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (9/11)
Vietnam Veteran Sgt. Mike Sulsona - who at the age of 19 lost both his legs when he stepped on a landmine while on patrol in Vietnam - was presented with a custom-built, mortgage free “smart home” by the@Tunnel2Towers Foundation.

I think it would be cool to have the 2nd to last C7 ever built, knowing that the one behind it sold for $2.7M. Someone has it, either a dealer or buyer.
It would be funny if it was a customer order for a similar black Z06 with the same specs. I thought I read earlier that the production line was run by model and color so was the 2nd to last C7 also a black Z06?

But does it overheat?
unfortunately that will be all anyone that isn’t familiar with the cars remembers about the c7 z06.
Great looking car! Stupid engineers for not having a hot weather capable track car.

Barrett Jackson is the worst thing to ever happen to the car collector world. Their inflated "charity" auctions drive up prices of cars that a few years later tank. A prime example was the sale of one of the Elenor Mustangs from Gone in 60 seconds. They sold one of the movie cars for a few million and the money went to charity. Then dozens of "reproductions" started coming out and a company was even started to make these reproductions. Suckers bought them for a few years and then they were worthless. This is just like the stock market in my opinion. Insiders make the money outsiders are the grease. Watch when an insider is selling a car.....they talk it up they stop the action they do whatever they have to to get the price to what they promised the seller. Then watch an outsider....if it is on the block for 30 seconds that is a long time for them.
My wifes hair dresser was trying to sell his Jaguar....nice car from the early 70s. Had it professionally restored and it looked nice. He wanted me to buy it but I am no fan of British cars....even though I love the looks of those. I told him not to go to Barrett Jackson, but when I said I wouldn't buy it he took it there. they charged him all sorts of money for detailing, prime display (or some BS), and a few other add ons. They told him it should bring between 40-50K. they hammered it after 23 seconds at 29k.
Anyone who thinks that the C7 corvette (of any trim level) is an investment.....should instead contact me about a wonderful bridge that I am selling that connects the Borough of Brooklyn to Manhattan island.
By the way just noticed that the Special Ellenor that sold for $1 million in 2013 is back for sale at Barrett Jackson.....suggested selling price is now $385,000. E-bay has the copies for as low as $22k.
