Stubility Control Help?
I am experiencing a situation in my Z06/Z07 with the stability control. The system seems to be kicking in at time it should not. I have read about a few people that have had the same kind of issue, but have not heard of any concrete resolutions. Seem that at anytime in Weather Eco, Tour, Sport, there is fare to much stability control intervention. This happens a lot on the freeway around 80mph and up if I have to turn the wheel, even slightly. Now when I say turn the wheel i mean in order the fallow the direct of the freeway. I know some might be quick to say that I am not used to driving a car like this, but it is my second Z06 and the situations where I am running into this are places where my previous Z06 would have no issue handling it at 30mph more then what I am currently doing in my new one. So it shouldn't even be fazing my c7 car.
Example: Driving on the freeway at 85mph with just enough throttle to maintain 85mph, slight turn of the wheel to fallow the freeway direction, .30g never exceeded on the meter in any of the instances, and the stability control starts kicking on and pulsing the rear brake.
Is this common?

One thing that can cause that is an alignment problem. In all of the active handling diagnostics going back to the 98 C5 the first thing th mechanic is told to do is to check to make sure the alignment is correct and the steering wheel centered when the car is going straight ahead. If a thrust angle issue is causing your steering wheel to be off center (or if the steering sensor senses it is off center) when you turn the wheel the steering sensor could be seeing a larger displacement than is expected for the turn. The yaw sensor and lateral G sensors would indicate the car isn't responding as quickly as it should for that amount of steering wheel displacement and the EBCM would decide to pulse the inside back brake to get the car to yaw more. All this due to an alignment issue.
Stability control is simple. It tries to make the car do what the driver is telling it to do through the steering wheel. If something is out of line it can have trouble doing that. SC never fights a driver it only follows a driver's lead.
