Supercharger Explosion!!
This is my story.
Went to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Grand Prix circuit for a lapping day. Had my Trofeo R tire pressures set, oil temp and pressures perfect, all assist off, and was ready to go ham
. First session went by, car felt amazing! Neutral and balanced, just the way I like it. Second session came, I was about 8 minutes in. Went into T2, car just stalled. First thought,
I safely cruised to a runoff area to try to start it back up, but when I cranked it, one single click was all you can hear. So I waited to be towed back to pits. I checked over the car and nothing seemed wrong, no oil leaks, no smoke, no nothing! Skipping past the boring stuff of me towing the car to the dealer and waiting. Dealer got back to me about a week and a half ago saying the supercharger was seized up and needed to be replaced. I said, "GREAT!". They ordered the blower, but was backordered for a week or 2. Fast forward to today, my advisor notified me, something was wrong. When they opened the lid of the supercharger, pieces of metal was everywhere! Now they say they have to keep the car and check if the engine was affected. So that's how my month went, how was yours?
PS: I remember seeing a post back in 2016 where a guy found some play in the bearing holding the 2 screws. Maybe mine was worst and had a bigger failure than his.
TLDR: Supercharger seized on track. Dealer ordered new one. Found the blower exploded. May need new engine.
Cheers!

I sure am glad to hear that they are going to cover that for you. That could be a pretty large bill.
