I was so focused on seeing what I wanted to see ($20K off) that I missed the actual year! A brand new 2017. Talked with them but couldn’t get the whole story. I told them the deal would have to be much better than that for a 2 - almost 3 year old “new” car. The build date was actually 12/2016. Just didn’t know that there were still cars like this out there.

For their asking prices of their Stingray’s, GrandSport’s, and Z06’s I’m not surprised that these cars will be setting on the lots for quite some time.
They do not want to sell corvette, in general, and they take the min allocation gm forces on dealers. Their location doesn't have many corvette buyers, it's not the demographic they stock cars for. Because of this they can't/wont sell at crazy low prices because they have to support their corvette trained tech and all the specialty tools that gm forces on them.
If that's a car you are interested in let me know and ill set you up with my sales guy there. I guarantee he can find more off of that car than 20k.

I also expanded the search to 2016, 2, 1 stingray and 1 z51, both at the same dealer. But some 16 z06 vrts i found in may DID sell. I expanded to '17, over 52 MORE matches
After two years GM is finished with them, gives the entire incentives dowry to the dealer, who is now permanently wedded to the leftovers. 20% is probably the total GM incentives package, more discount for a divorce from the dealer comes out of his personal wallet.
And as cars . Com shows over 50 dealers are loathe to part with their own money, preferring instead to use their brides as window dressing to lure shoppers into their showrooms.
those is some expensive gals. Sometimes it’s better to get out from under those old hags for 50 or 60 cents on the dollar.
Yep, I agree completely. The interest carrying costs from GM to those dealers will choke just about anyone. Those dealers have to be the small town owners that refuse to dump inventory, hoping against hope someone will come in madly in love with that two year old "new" car. Hate to say it this way, but they are very poor, idiot, dealer principals. They think these cars are like Bugattis or F1 Ferraris with ultra limited production rates!
