It really shouldn't matter. the z06's have the receiver and they all just screw in. I leave mine in all the time so I wanted the least visible ones I could find.

ZL1 add-ons has great tow hooks. I have one up front.
That's the 2nd negative post i've seen against them. I did a quick search and nothing came up. What is their story? I ordered 2 things from them and they were fine.
Is there a list of good companies to buy products from? I'm looking for a few other things too.
Under the Marketplace drop down at the top of the forum page, is "Vendor Directory." If they are on there, they are good to do business with.
Or, just search the name of the company you are thinking about buying from. There are many threads on here about Corvettemods. Lot's of people (me included because I didn't do a search) got bitten by them.

I'm sure sometimes, maybe even most of the time, they will send you the product that you purchased, as advertised, undamaged. But some of the time they don't. With so many reputable vendors out there, it's not worth taking a chance.
I got my money back from them, after a credit card dispute and allot PITA back and forth. They sent me the wrong part, and then wanted me to pay a restocking fee for it when I returned it.
I probably had 500 dollars worth of time invested in a 20 dollar situation, but it was a matter of principle.
I bought the Featherlite set from Southern Car Parts. Some guys keep their hook in all the time, however I keep mine in the rear cargo cubby for track days and in the event of a roadside emergency. They're not cheap and I had a friend of mine who had his front tow hook stolen when parked at a restaurant. Unless you use lock tight, they just screw out.

Good point. the zl1 front one I have would require a big allen wrench and a grip that would break blue locktite, the rear not so much. It will get locktite tomorrow though.
but I read that the receivers come installed from factory on all models.
Receivers were not installed on the early 2014 models.
One of which I have. So I bought the ZL1 kit to retrofit the front and rear with receivers. Both the front and rear bumper covers must be removed for installation of the kit. I haven't installed the kit yet. Since I'm changing the stock grille to the Z06 style grille and adding the Z51 rear spoiler I'm doing all the work for each end at one time.

I got one and installed it. I decided I didn't want the tow hook sticking out of the front of the car 100% of the time for only 2-5 track days per year, so I will just reinstall it for track days & remove it afterwards.
