I bought at 2016 Z06 new and at 5k miles had to put a new rear end in due to failure, then at 12k miles i had to replace two rear cracked rims, then 14K the torque converter went out and now its back in the shop for a strong gas smell and looks to be the gas tank connections. So far all but the cracked rims have been under warranty and hopefully the gas tank issue is as well. Man i love this car but this one has had more issues than my 3 prior corvettes combined. Just needed to vent!
there is a bulletin on strong gas smell. hope this might be last problem for you. i;ve have a couple ghost problems with mine but they came once and never returned

Holy Mackerel...that is outside two standard deviations of the mean failure rates...I feel for ya dude. I just hope my '16 Z06 A8 with 5K miles stays clear of those issues. Just curious what is your pattern of usage?

Its a weekend car, not tracked or abused, I average about 3800 miles a year on it.
I don't mean to be harsh, but a rear end failure is a sure sign of improper break in. I know most of you all know way more than the engineers but this is what happens when you ignore the manual for break in. The torque converter in 16 had an issue but I don't recall what it was. I am sorry for the trouble you have had, but it seems that by 2019 (my year) they got the bugs out and mine has been trouble free....Knock on wood. That is why I tend to wait till the later model years in a new generation. Hell I may wait until the C9 to get a mid-engine vette....I think there are going to be a lot of issues with this entirely new platform on the 2020.
Sorry for the bad news. Yeah it sucks. I agree above post. Some guys complain about the issues with there C7 and dumping them. But I think there will be a lot with this C8. I would be shocked if there isn’t.

I hear you, and unfortunately I am one of those guys that dumped the C7Z and won't get a C8. I didn't even have the issues that the OP has. Personally I LOVED driving this car but with bent wheels, service lights, trans flushes, and the fighting with GM on warranty coverage, I totally lost confidence in future ownership. I got as much money as I could out of my Z06 after 3 years of ownership and banked it for now, saving for a future toy. I still lurk on the forum as it has a great bunch of knowledgeable people. We'll see what happens with GM's quality and I'll be checking in from time to time to see what is happening with the Corvette. OP good luck and hope all goes well for you.

c6 had the same fuel leak problem. Looks like it wasn’t addressed in the c7

In this case you would be incorrect with the break-in period, which i followed to the letter. When I talked to GM about the new rear end they were on back order due to issues and pulled one off the assembly line per the dealership that repaired it. I was told there was issues with a batch of rear ends and my vin# fell into that group but hey didn't know if all were affected.

While I do not doubt that you broke it in correctly and that the rear was defective, I said that because others swear that the break in is BS and makes you car slower....I just took the opportunity to point out why you do the break in. Sadly for you you had to do it again after the new rear.
The rear and the converter being broken in jacked up could be the issue.
OP. What's build date on car?
How many miles on it when you took it home?
And extended service stays before the rear went out? Anyone else drive it?
Just asking. To make a better assessment of your situation
The build date was September 2015 and i bought it November 2015 with 7 miles on it. The only service before the rear end failed was for general oil changes and tire balancing the dealership performed.
I was told today it is the Service Bulletin 17469 Fuel Leak and will be covered by warranty which is a relief, hope to have it back by the end of this week.
