That's weird. Has the car always been in Florida? Some combination of heat and humidity? I really don't know.

Yes, in Florida always.
I'm stumped too. Surely can't be the ONLY person that has discovered this warped rubber seal.

Driving me nuts. GM 22786849 part is $70.

Probably can remove it, as it may add cooling to the engine bay.

as the car is a 2019 it should be replaced free under warranty. My 2017 isn’t like this. I would imagine it is a combination of heat and a possible composite change in the part not withstanding heat as well caused it. Check out other c7z’s to see if they are similar

That looks aweful. Sorry that happened. I've seen a ton of C7's and that's the first time I've seen that.

I've just got back into the Corvette world and just got a 2019 Z06 2LZ 8 sp auto, orange . Great car but do miss rowing gears.
Back to topic my car has the exact issue with the rubber seal . It may be a bad batch or a different vendor so who else has this seal?
I know it's worthless without pictures and I'm not too good with this stuff so when my son gets home he'll set me up .

Another 19 here, same hideous problem. It must be 19 specific, my 16 is in perfect shape. Oh well, I'll let my dealer worry about it in April when I pull it out of storage

My 19 Z06 also has the same problem. It might indeed be an issue with the specific year. Thanks for the part number!

Yep later 19 issue. Mine and my buddy's same thing. Mine already changed at dealer.

My car was built in late august and was transported to my climate controlled garage 3 weeks later.. it sat in the garage not driven until late september, while at the ppf installer I noticed this.

I thought "wth?"

ppf guy does a ton of C7s and Z06's says hes never seen one like that before.

You can see with a ton of other things going on yet that rubber seal still stood out lol.

And the replacement at my 500 mi oil change. My 16 was 3 plus years old at trade and still looked new. Has to be a late 19 parts issue.

I live in Central Fl., and my mine is fine ('16 Z with 5K miles)...fyi, my Z is always garaged and is not a DD.

Thanks 16c7z. That was going to be my next question. So the replacement, so far, is looking good? Otherwise, I don’t see much of a point in replacing garbage with garbage

Hot off the presses. Still lookin good months later.

But mind you it has.... been at a roughly constant temp... car has 720 mi or so on it. 335 mi for ride home. Been so busy working and weather has sucked when off.

See what happens in about 7 or 8 mos.

Have another 57mos to replace it.. when I picked this one up I purchased the extra 2yr bumper to bumper for 1400 bucks so from 36 36k miles to 60mos 60k miles b2b. Such piece of mind. And can only do it at the time of purchase (GM knows you'd be back to get it and they will be regretting offering it in years 4 and 5 lol).
