I think there are other parts required including the camera and the harnesses connecting it to the recorder. Probably several other things that are necessary including reprogramming the center display so the PDR can be set up and turned on.
....thank you for the insight. Probably need a new rear view mirror as well, one with a camera....
Shucks.....I kind of anticipated this.
Wl purchase an in car camera....
Camera isn't in the mirror. But at least you'll be able to mount your aftermarket camera high center and not block the PDR. I have my dashcam offset to the right to avoid the PDR camera (a Blackvue 750 2ch FHD).
I remember reading somewhere that Tadge said a car could not be retrofitted with PDR for the reasons that Bill mentioned above. I’m sorry I’m hazy on the details, but I definitely remember the answer to OP’s question is ‘no’

GM doesn't support modding the cars, so that's his official line. I've got a PDR installed and working in my 2014 Z51. You need a lot more than just the module and the camera. One of these days I'll get around to doing a write up on the install.
Good lord!
I'd be better off selling my Z06 and purchasing one with PDR!
PDR at first sounds good but boils down to unless you track the car enough to use it. Then use you phone for the nav. Remember to turn it on and use it?
PDR is near worthless so I would not lose any sleep.

mine has pdr— other then a couple times I used it - I think it’s worthless.
Name one that captures the same data and writes the telemetry, video and audio to a single storage location, while not having cords and suction cups everywhere.
The GM PDR has access to data parameters that are simply not available via generic OBD2 protocol. I don't know of anything that captures the GM proprietary data.
I love my PDR. I use it as a dash cam. It has some limitations, but it's awesome to have that data that a dash cam just isn't going to provide. I bought a 256 GB SD card and just run it till it's full then wipe it and start again. Takes me like 6 months to fill it up. Not to mention the PDR doens't take up any windshield real estate. If you run a radar detector, you don't need MORE hardware obscuring your view.

Perhaps someday I can tempt you to visit Lansing area and help me duplicate the effort on my own 2014 Z51. Then we can try them out over at Grattan or Gingerman.
Even though I have PDR in my car I'd love to see the write-up on how you did it. As you said, there is no aftermarket system with the amount of data available as the Cosworth PDR system. I'd like to figure out how to mod mine to feed in some more data like voltage to the shocks.
I'm curious whether yours has the extra data channels that were released in 2018.
