I have put them on many times before. Never had to raise the engine.
This time it is a tight fit and seems the answer is to unbolt the motor mounts and raise the engine a 1/2 inch or so. Then right back down.
Is there a problem with doing this?

What headers are you installing? I got my long tubes in there fine by disconnecting the steering shaft of the drivers side and pulling it away, and removing the starter for the passenger side.

Nope, no problem. That is what I did when I installed my headers. Easy peasy!
