Thinking of pulling out from hibernation :)

Had C7.R vert out yesterday to drive to lady friend's house and then back home this morning - music to my ears! People honking horns and thumbs up all over the place!

Ok, I'll ask if no one else will. Honking and thumbs up because you spent the night at your lady friend's house, or because they liked your car?

Probably at least mid April for me, I have a feeling winter isn't quite done with us just yet. Plus, around here you can literally smell the salt still on the roads.

This has probably been asked before, but can you put the clutch in and the gas pedal to the floor while pressing the start button to get some oil pressure built up before actually starting the car? This would be for a car that sat for 6 months.

My Z never goes into "Hibernation" , I just don't drive it that one day every other year that it snows here.
Y'all can hammer me when it's 97 degrees with 110% Humidity in June, July and August.

And actually NO ONE in Southern California is driving any convertible with their top down today - freaking pouring here!

Here in NJ it has been very nice for a while now. We really never had a winter here this year, but a few ice and one or two small snow falls brought the salt trucks out. I just waited until after a good rain and then took her out. This past weekend I had her out all weekend. It was a little chilly on Sunday morning (about 45) but the air is so nice and dense at that temperature. The car really wakes up at those lower temps. I winterized her in January ( Changed the oil and poured in some Stabil) but I ran through that tank of gas by the beginning of February.

Naturally, there would be a benefit to having perfect oil pressure in distribution in an engine on start up but all the oil won't drain from the engine into the pan no matter how long it sits. That thin layer of protection - the layer that actually prevents metal to metal contact - will be stuck there.

Probably little bit of both! (VBG) Camaro ZL1 couple of houses down from girlfriend's and he always revs the car coming home and leaving when he sees the C7.R

An engine that was already running before, will be totally fine starting after a couple of months of sitting. This isn't 1970 anymore. These engines are advanced now, and you have your warranty to back you up.

Upstate NY here. While the temps are decent and the road salt is mostly gone the potholes are absolutely horrible. I'll bring my car home from storage soon, but I may wait a few weeks to see if they get some of the roads patched. I've never seen so many that are so deep.

My second home is on Seneca lake, Dundee area. I go up there every other weekend or so and all the roads I take seem very good. I know the greater Rochester area gets hit hard by winter but it was very mild by us at the lake. Did you get hit hard this year?

Not really - 85" of snow so far (in Rochester), which is a couple feet below average for the year. But, there have been a lot of freeze/thaw cycles and that really opens up the potholes.
