Default Track FAIL

Drove 2.5 hrs up to Carolina Dragway yesterday morning. Pretty decent crowd, it was a "Cars and Coffee" event. My first pass of the day I launch and the stupid clutch pedal comes about half way back up and stops! Car barely moved and I looked like a no driving idiot in front of everyone haha! Let it cool down for awhile and then made another gentle pass to see if it was still okay. Ran 11.6 @ 124 on a careful 2.1 60', then parked it. Checked the fluid and it is low and nasty. Hopefully it just needs some fluid maintanence. Oh well, at least it got me home still.

Did you pull the clutch pedal back up? That used to happen to my 15Z a couple of years ago while I was on track and I would use the toes of my left foot to pull it up. GM replaced the clutch master cylinder under warranty and I haven't had a problem since.

that’s a respectable time. What year is the car? You might look up the “ranger” clutch fluid flush.

Decent time for a 2.1 60 foot. If it's still under warranty the dealer should fix that.

It didn't stick to the floor, just about half way up. I clutched it in again and shifted and rolled to the next turn out at a blistering 59 mph. Pedal felt fine on the return road.

It's a 2016. I have read about the Ranger mod. I'm going to pull the downpipe this weekend and do I full flush on it. Then I'll start doing the Ranger mod regularly.

It is still covered under my extended warranty. I'm not sure what the fix would be at this point. Master, slave, or just old nasty fluid that was a little on the low side?

There's usually a reason it gets low on fluid. Nasty and dark due to neglect, wear, and corrosion happens over time. If you're going to go to the (pain-in-the-butt-messy) trouble of flushing it why not consider replacing the clutch master cylinder at the same time? One of those while-you're-in-there things. It's not that expensive.

A8 for the win... I respect you guys trying to drag race the manuals but it really is futile when any 2015 A8 bone stock down to the air box and tires can put these numbers down..

I'm not opposed to that, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks!

Haha, yeah yeah I know! I have a turbo Camaro with a th400 and a transbrake for the auto stuff. I enjoy banging gears, I know it will never be as fast and I've made peace with that
