Default DFW performance services

I am about to come into a little extra cash (unfortunately not near enough to allow me to retire Monday!) and was thinking about juicing up my Z06 a little. Nothing too radical but maybe 75-100 hp. I don't track so this is just to add a little more spice to the mix. There's really nothing here locally but Dallas-Ft Worth is about 3 hrs away, so any shops in the DFW area that anyone here would recommend? Keeping the warranty intact would be nice but not completely necessary. I would do the job myself but I'm mechanically challenged and don't trust myself.

Thanks!

I have used a few different shops/tuners in DFW between 3 ctsv's and now 3 C7''s

All 3 C7's have gone to 21st Century Muscle Cars in Addison and I have not had 1 issue with them. There may be some shops in the area perceived to make a bit more power, but for power and reliability i think 21st is the place to go

Another vote for 21st Century Muscle Cars.
They did all of the engine mods/tuning (and a lot of other stuff) on my current C7Z and my previous Z06's, one of which I tracked and generally beat on for 14 years without any issues.

LG Motorsports is also an excellent option and they have done quite a bit of work on my car as well. (cooling systems, suspension mods, safety gear installs and some small custom fabrication.)

21st, LG, AMP, G-speed, ADM, and a hand full of others. Do your research.

No shortage in the DFW metroplex.

Bet you were hoping for a shop closer to Ft Worth?!? Sounds like it's worth the extra 45 minute drive, though!

Talked to the guys at 21st Century.....was looking primarily at improving throttle response......not gonna go too crazy so I was looking at their 720hp and 750hp packages:

720hp:
• Cold Air Intake System
• Lower OD harmonic balancer and belt
• Billet idler pulley
• 21st Century Muscle Cars custom dyno & street tune
• Chassis dyno report

750hp:
• T-304 Stainless steel 1 7/8" long tube headers
• 3" collector & x-pipe
• Hi flow catalytic converters
• Cold Air Intake System
• Lower OD harmonic balancer and belt
• Ported & polished supercharger snout
• Ported throttle body
• 21st Century Muscle Cars custom dyno & street tune
• Chassis dyno report

Anybody had either of these done and could give me some insight into the results? Thanks!

Getting headers will be a nice improvement so I'd lean toward the 750 package. It all sounds like good stuff but if you were trying to save a few bucks maybe skip the blower porting. I am sure it helps (made a big difference on one of my ctsv's), but considering bang for the buck i would guess that one yields the least return for the cost. Porting prob helps response though so if you can swing it get the full 750 package

Also headers with stock mufflers are a great sounding combo imo. I wouldn't want to spend all that money without some change in the exhaust note

If you want to retain the stock like docile Tour mode and mildly loud Sport/Track modes then skip the headers. Going with Long Tube headers will increase the cabin noise even in Tour Mode. Some people are OK with it and some people regret it. Decide what you want with sound and if louder doesn't bother you, def go for the 750HP package.

I'm just suggesting you research this if you have never driven a car with Long Tube Headers. It will change the interior sound and make the engine overall more noisy. It can be a real surprise to some people. If this is just a weekend toy then its far less likely you would care about increased cabin noise and being able to hear the exhaust inside the cabin on the highway even in Tour mode. If you enjoy long trips on the highway in Tour mode with near silence aside from road noise, just know that you will lose this with headers.

I for one like headers and don't mind it

Thanks for the heads up. Right now the Vette is my DD but I'm fixing to pick up another car to daily in. Hardly ever take the Vette on the highway looking for a quiet ride.

Hence the reason I opted to skip headers at this time. My Corsa X and Borla ATAK sounds incredible @ WOT... and quiet, docile at the red light...

Feel free to give me a shout to go over some options. That being said if you go with 21st you'll be in good hands, I've seen the work they did on McK_Z06's car and it was very nice/cleanly done.

I found a local performance shop so now my debate is between an AFE CAI and tune - local - $1800, or 750HP package from 21st Century - 3 hr drive - $6400

Both of these options include a tune.
