I just had a service on my 18’ Z including the triple flush, I can swear it feels smoother or maybe it’s just in my head.
Anyway I spoke to the GM about the C8 and asked him how much over sticker he got. The answer was 0, they never go over sticker. I proceeded to ask how many people were waiting for C8’s, he said 9. I then asked how many on the list for the C8Z, he replied 0. I then asked what I needed to do to start the list for the “2022” C8Z. $1000 refundable deposit. Well, I ran to my car and gave a check for $1000. Once I order I am responsible for another $4000 then none of it is refundable. I don’t pay a penny above What I spec out, I think it’s lucky. A couple of my friends just became 2 and 3 on the list.

Most Gm dealers won't charge over MSRP. That seems like a Ford thing to do
That is why I bought the corvette over the GT 500. Regardless, there are tons of dealers who marked up the C8. If there is rabid demand for the C8Z same thing will happen.
My recollection of several new model introductions is that California dealers were particularly prone to charge over invoice, but there are undoubtedly others. The good guys, most of whom are sponsors of this forum, tend not to do that. .--Bob
