Soler TB install snapped bolt
I was installing the Soler TB and torquing the bolts down to 90 ft/lbs when a bolt snapped. Just ruined my Saturday. Best way to get the broken bolt out and where to find a replacement?
Odd that it snapped no?

Not at all odd it snapped. The throttle body bolts are to be torqued to 88 inch -pounds (7.3 foot-pounds).

A bolt extractor. It should not be too difficult as the bolts are pretty soft.
And we have all done these sots of things - obvious after the fact.

LOL WTF 90ft lb on a 10mm bolt...your first car really should not be a c7z when you learn the difference of inch lbs to foot lbs.
like step back for a sec and think should I be standing in my engine bay on my torque wrench to torque down a bolt half the size of a wheel lug nut.

Hopefully there’s enough aptitude to not snap the tap. Don’t use a shitty one.

[Whew]
Now it is just an inconvenience rather than a problem.

Excellent!
If you do not have a baby torque wrench calibrated in inch-pounds, the bolts are not even tightened to snug (the bolt does not bottom out). They are just tight enough to start compressing the little green seal on the intake.
Be sure to post your impressions of the Soler throttle body.

Getting ready to install mine tomorrow. I will not repeat your mistake. We live and we learn. I hope you can get the broken piece out and press on.

Use a 1/4 drive torque wrench. it will show the torque value you need. Harbor Freight has them for less than $15.

Don't feel too bad.. When torquing a bolt down always remember to tighten it until it breaks then back it off a 1/4 turn and it's good to go.. lol .. glad it wasn't too bad a situation.
