I finally got the chance to take my 2019 Z to the strip last Wednesday for "test and tune" night. It was really busy, and I only got two runs. Quite hot anyhow. 89 degrees and a DA of 3150 at 590 FE.
On the first run using TR and traction control OFF, with a light pre-load to 1200. I got a decent hole shot and then it really fell on it's face at the second gear shift but recovered nicely, although it killed the run to an 11.8 @125.
The second run was IMO fine considering the temp and DA. 11.4 @ 126. Car is factory stock with 10K on the original tires.
I reviewed the PDR video and the first run definitely went well into the redline at the 1/2 shift, hence the rev-limiter.
Have any of you guys hit the rev limiter when in D and letting the car do the shifting? I haven't; even doing 0-60 runs with terrible smoking launches.
Also, the PDR video shows 11.8 correctly on the first run, but 11.7 on the second run when the track timer printed out at 11.402. (this has been discussed before on the forum)
The 60' were both crummy at 2.143 and 1.943.
I'd like to post both PDR videos, but I turned it on while sitting in the staging line so I wouldn't forget to turn it on. Both are 3 or 4 minutes long. Does anybody know how to clip an MP4 so it only shows the actual runs?
You can use Race Render to snip your videos and also merge other things in with the video. For example you could have the PDR setup to show all of the track info it can show in the video along with a data recording you took from another device. This is another way to merge multiple camera views into your main video.
In your case you could merge in a helmet camera to show what you are looking at Vs where the PDR is aimed.

If you have a Windows computer you can simply use their built in movie editor called Movie Maker. It is fairly basic but does allow you to crop and cut and paste. Load your MP4 onto your computer and right click on it. Then select "Open With" and pick Movie Maker. Pretty simple. When you edit, save the new one separately from the original so you always have it. --Bob
I've never bounced off the rev limiter in drive, but I have while using the paddles. I'm not sure how you could hit the rev limiter in drive.
Me either -- like I said I've done plenty of 0-60 timed runs and a few were really smoke it where I just got off the throttle and tried again, but never hit the rev limiter.
Several posters have given me info (appreciated) on how to clip the PDR videos I have. There are two and I will definitely post them when edited. In the first one I can clearly see on the tach display going well into the red-line and the rev-limiter dropping RPM back to about 3000 then stumbling and picking back up.
