Default Brake worn message

I have 2015 Z06 with Z07 package. Getting the brake worn message about everyday. Had the brakes looked at and they are not worn It has 11000 miles. Going to look at the computer for a malfunction next week. My question is when I need brakes do I have to go back with ceramic?
I'm old and do not race the car and never will. The parts for these brakes are extremely expensive.

There was another thread on this problem not long ago. My memory is that it's typically a bad wiring harness connecting to the caliper I believe. Seems to be right front most often. I have a Z07 and, FWIW, I was told by the selling company that street driving the pads would likely last 100k or more.

I am having the computer checked next week to see the code it set. If I need sensors they have to order the parts. None in Oklahoma

Almost impossible to wear out the CC brakes on the street.

More likely a broken wire to a sensor or a sensor issue.

Good luck with the repair.

I have the same message on my car, has for about 2 months. Not super worried about it. I pulled the tires off and brakes look fine. I’m also a Z07. Need to find out what sensor it is and replace it.

I had the same issue it was a sensor at brake caliber being pinched from factory dealer shouldn't charge for fixing it is a factory or build problem

do not worry about the computer it is the brake sensor and is a common issue that people post about on here.

Same hurrr..

16z 07 -10k miles Clean and Super Sexxy!

Have an Appt today at Noon to replace Brake wear sens. Dealer did part for me for $52 out door 🙄Watev 2nd One i Replaced so far!
0 Track time but i do beat the Dawgshit outta her , this one came on last Fri eve when hangin w 2 800+ Hp cars doing a lot of Hi Hi speed Runs for a good amount of time! I Suspect the heat from Ceramics , And S Florida temps that nite was 82d just broke it! Last time the Mech.. told me they get so hot and dry out that then eventually (in a short period of time) become brittle and fall apart

Altho i must say someone said that if not tracked the Ceramicss will last a lifetime , i beg to Differ. As stated i use and beat my Ceramics on Street and Highway and w a look at pads thru rims im def chewing threw pad thickness! My are down i’d say a good 50%!

Ima Have him Ck the insides of pads today as well and ck for any premature wear or issues as from outside they look Great but they say (Everyone on forum that i’ve read about ceramic threads and sensors) have to look inside calipers as well! Last thing any us want is a Dead Pad make contact w the Rotor 😯🤬 That’ll cost a good Chunk o change not to mention maybe almost kill someone. Better to be safe than Sorry w the brake Sensor Msg!!

N

Why not pull the wheel off & replace the sensor yourself. It's simple!
I had a sensor go bad on my new to me 2018 Z06 when it had only 6500 miles on it. Replaced under warranty.

I'm handy and do remove the wheels Quite often to clean Calipers and Wheel barrels but idk w this, i had just stopped by my mech and he was like sure w the lift is a lot easier + its like 92d Hawt as ***** so just said F it and let him do!

So it turned out to be the be the Pass side this time , a few mo's ago was the driver side! As he pulled it out the Caliper it literally fell apart was Extremely Brittle and the wires were Frayed cause a loss in the Loop triggering the light!

Ck'd both the fronts and the Pads look great , almost same from looking thru the rim as using the lift to ck pads on lower inside! I watched him do and ck both Sensors and routing of the wires and its a VERY SIMPLE Process.. Hopefully not but if there issa next time i'll do garage for sure.

Light Gone , Ahhh

I am getting the message daily now as well on my 2016 Z07 with 29k. Just had the tires changed today (2 1/2 hrs) and the brakes are fine. I'm out of warranty so will have to get fixed at my cost too. Is there a recall by chance for this?

Ok So 1st Feel Lucky , happy , Privileged that they lasted as long as they did! Haa!
2nd they tire replacement definitely broke one or even two em , Most likely front’s!
There was a Tsb (Recall of sorts) for these as you state but i actually don’t know the Detail’s of that Communica! A Quik Search sould get you that info..
If that is In your favor then great make an appt w dealer and have it done! Altho i wanna say 4+ yrs old and 29k prolly not unfortunately.
Sensors are about $52 ea , i’d grab 2 from the dealer and go to the Tire Chop and be like Listen you Dick’s Broke my Sens’s , i grabbed a few new one’s would ya mind throwing em on for meh! You can do it if your somewhat hands on and have A Jack and ability as well as time to take ea wheel off and Swap in new ones! I’d Say being careful and taking time is About 37-42 mins p side! Just take off wheel locate blk wire sensor coming outta Caliper and routing twds eng and control arms , Remove and Reinstall new Sexxy One’s put Wheel back on and Waahlaaah On to the Next and Repeat!
