Live in Florida - idk what I ran over but nonetheless I heard a woosh and my passenger front tire is flat. Have the pilot cup sport IIs which is a run flat. Car has almsot 16K on it so these are the original tires. What is my best/cheapest option?
Can these be patched?
Do I take it to the dealer (I need an oil change too) - or tireking or something else? Im assuming if they cant be patched I'll need to replace at least the 2 front tires. Would a dealer negotiate on tire pricing?
I assume that when you say “flat” you mean completely and totally flat? If so, while such RFs can sometimes be successfully plugged if the damage isn’t too severe and is in a fairly central location, such a tire would likely no longer be a run flat tire. If the tire has 16k I would also assume that you probably don’t track and that the remaining 3 tires might not have a ton of mileage left in them.
So, if all the above assumptions are correct, I would propose that maybe this might a good time to consider getting 4 new tires. Perhaps PSS RFs? Anyway, food for thought...
I agree on replacing all 4. 16k on the cup2 is a lot of miles, you must baby it! You can take it anywhere you like but they will have to order the tires for you. If you don't drive it on the track you might as well save some money and go with the OEM from a non-Z07 package car, the Pilot Super Sport. If you want something even less expensive that will last longer and do better in the rain you can go for the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ which is an all-season run-flat tire. I run those on my Z and love them. Traction is amazing for an all-season tire, not much different from the MPSS on the street. Around town you won't notice a difference and they don't hydroplane like a seaplane on wet roads.
I'm with the others on replacing all 4. I also have the Michelin A/S 3+ tires on mine and have nothing but great things to say about their performance. Unless you track your car, they're really tough to beat on these cars.
Check the rims. My Z only has 4,000 miles on the thing. I started reading one afternoon and noticed a rash of folks complaining about the rims. I've never hit a pothole or anything I felt was too harsh. So surely, mine were fine. WRONG! I went out to my shop, lifted the rear, started the car, put it in reverse and one of the rear wheels had at least .250 run-out. The other 3 are fine. But I'm not putting another one back on and expecting different results. I called Bob @HOUSEOFWHEELS . He really did me right. Forum pricing. I'll have 4 GM ZR1 wheels on it this coming Friday.

As I have said in a number of posts, I believe that for our large wide wheels and low profile stiff run flats that it is best if you can find a tire installer which has a Hunter Revolution tire changing machine, which essentially does most of the work in mounting and dismounting the tires, quickly and without damage to the wheels. To find out which tire installers have a Revolution is not that simple. I had to contact Hunter through their website and a local rep contacted me with the names of a couple near me. I also agree that it is probably time for the OP to get a new set of tires; If the puncture is near the center and you did not drive too far without air, it can probably be patched by a non-manufacturer dealer, but you are approaching the end of the tires' lives and should check for excessive wear on the inside shoulders of the tires to see if you see cords yet. My tires lasted to about 20k miles and were the regular Pilot Sports. Tread depth was only down to about 4/32s to 5/32s and was consistent across each tire but inspection showed cords showing on the inside shoulder of the right rear due to excessive camber. I replaced them with the high performance all season A/S 3 + ZPs and am happy with them. I do not track my car other than a few touring sessions each year (in normal years). If you replace tires I recommend an alignment by a shop that does a lot of Corvettes and has the digital angle meter needed for our C7s. Give them the DCS or pFadt specs for street and tire life, or just tell them you want longer tire life. --Bob
I had a run flat plugged once. Actually it was a plug/patch. Drove many miles with zero issues on that tire. As said above, at 16,000 miles, it’s very likely time to buy four new tires.
dealer wont patch runflats, discount tire will, but they will mess up your wheels doing so lol
I've actually had the opposite experience. Had to have Discount Tire fix issues my dealer caused trying to mount the tire on a Hunter machine. It's all about the tech doing the work, you shouldn't make blanket statements.

I agree - I just had these put on last week and they have been fantastic. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised at how much grip these "all season" tires have. I mean, they are "ultra-high performance"... but I took that with mostly a grain of salt and figured that was just in context compared to other all seasons.
I'm going to have to daily drive my car for the next year or two and although it's dry as hell here in Northern California right now, we get some pretty nasty rain around October - Jan and may have the worst draining highways in the country. Standing water on 280 is the norm, not the exception, and I wasn't about to run even PSS's on that. lol
Im in west palm beach. Im breaking it to chevy tmw. It seems like the rear tires still has a good amount of tread on them. I don't track the car but I am in the future - assuming I dont is it worth it to get the pilot cup 2s again? I bought the car used with 11400 miles with these tires.. im asumming they were stock from factory. I love the car. I dont drive like an old man but I dont track the car. What do yall think

I doubt the tires were original. Cup 2s are generally gone at 12k.
A reliable place for tires and proper handling of your wheels is OK Tire in Pompano Beach (Roughly Sample and Old Dixie).
Green Acres Chevy (Autonation) is very good with Corvettes as well.

I had the exact same thing happen to me and, yes, it's time for new tires.

Thanks for the tip, I'll save both places. I'm in Boynton.
