Hey guys, I am attaching my current alignment specs for my 15 C7Z. I have noticed that although my daily driver tires are wearing fairly even, my Hoosier drag radials are wearing out in the inside of both tires fairly bad. Can you please tell me what needs to be adjusted if I take the car to a different shop. I see the rear specs are all in green, but it's not in the middle of the "green" area. Any help is appreciated.
Changing tires doesnt change alignment. The Hoosiers are softer, so they just wear more quickly..
Dont worry about being dead middle in the green. I would worry about being equal left to right. So seeing toe in, on one side, and toe out on the other, while both green, makes me cringe. Also 0.4º of cross camber in the front is more than I would accept. Find someone who wants to do a quality alignment, who can measure rear caster, and then they can set it up for better tire wear (which is going to be taking out camber in the back).
If you are drag racing I would adjust the alignment in the following manner:
Front
Left ================ Right
Camber -0.6 deg ====== -0.9 deg
Caster = +7.4 deg ===== +7.4 deg
Toe === +0.05 deg ===== +0.05 both toe in
Cross Camber 0.0 deg
Cross Caster 0.0 deg
Rear
Left ================ Right
Camber -0.9 deg ====== -0.9 deg
Caster = 0.0 deg ======= 0.0 deg
Toe === +0.02 deg ===== +0.02 both toe in
Thrust 0.0
Cross Camber 0.0 deg
Cross Caster 0.0 deg
I have a Procharged Stingray and took off my drag pack last week. My 315/30/18 Hoosiers have one cord showing up towards the inside. My stock rear tires are wearing even. It’s all in the rear alignment. I’ll be getting a new alignment and a rear sway bar (have a base with no sway bar). A stiffer rear sway bar should help you but the alignment is key.
