Default E85 & Cam Question

Hello,

I'm putting a build together that consists of
1 7/8 LT headers
ATI 15% lower
2 Gallon tank
180t stat
Alky control pre/post boost kit
DSX Flex Fuel Kit
BTR Stage 3 Cam Kit w/ Hardware

Would it be beneficial to upgrade the fuel system to run a ethanol content of E85 rather than mixing 91 octane/meth/e30-40.

What would be required, I'd assume injectors/low side/high side would be enough? Cam will have a 32% fuel lobe.

E85 and our cars is amazing. I’m running a blend of e60 and meth. My car makes way more power with the E blend than meth and 93. This winter I’m upgrading my fuel system so i can ditch the meth and just run straight e85 because it just doesn’t sit right with me to depend on an inexpensive meth pump to not go lean. You’ll hit your power goals with the E. If i were you I would see how far the E takes you then decide on the meth from there.

Bigjay,

What fuel upgrades are you going to run to be able to run a full tank of E85?

Currently I’m running a cam with a Dsx low side pump but maxed out at e60 because I’m at 14.5 psi of boost. To run full e85 and the boost I want to increase I’m going port injection. However if I stayed at this boost level a upgraded high pressure pump and injectors would fix it.

Agreed.

I'm in the same situation as you. I also opted away from Meth. I maxxed out on E65 at a little over 800 WHP. A big bore LPE HPFP and 30% FIC injectors would probably fix that but not sure...

I am on stock fueling, but I have flex fuel sensor and I have dual nozzle meth setup.

On 93 + meth I did 702/660

and a e40 blend with meth I did 742/702

Because i am on stock pulley system still and I have the cam. I had plenty of fueling left. So I run full e 85 currently

. I have yet been able to go back to dyno to see what a difference it makes, but my butt dyno is impressed. I know previous owner said the car made 824, but i am not sure if that was in colder weather then what Texas is putting out right now(100 degree +) , or what fueling he was using. I am a little over 10 pounds of boost.

afe intake, long tubes/x pipe, ported blower, flex fuel, meth kit. ground cam and some head work.

Not bad. If you ever pulley down your gonna have to get a low side fuel system as well. The upper (2.3) pulley on my car actually had to get swapped out for a 2.5 because I was running out of fuel. Is your car an M7 or A8??

2015 z07 2lz manual.

yea my tuner said I might as well not do a pulley, it can create more problems then it’s worth and more heat. If I really want more power then I have to swap the blowers.

I'm at 16lbs (f1a), E50, and a dual nozzle meth setup maxed out. Made 904whp. Definitely hope to go port injection sometime in the future. Every time before doing a pull I always test my meth pump using the test button and look for the led to go green.
