Stock ZR1 vs Bolt on Z06, Half Mile Pull! {VIDEO}
I finally got the Z back out to Shift-Sector this past Sunday, Car ran flawlessly...
I had the opportunity to line up with a stock ZR1, very nice guy! Given the fact that the ZR1 is 755 flywheel, and I'm right around 720 RWHP, I think the race showed "real world" results of what a 800 HP bolt on flywheel HP Z06 can do. The 5 MPH difference in the two cars backed up the dyno #s... I also had the chance to try out the new Kuhmo 355/30/19 V720 tires, since the Toyos were on back order. I still needed to modulate the throttle in first, but they did pretty well after that!
Just to be clear, I love all corvettes, regardless of year or model. This video is NOT put up to bash the ZR1 in any way, just to show some actual head to head comparisons of two different model vettes, both driven by competent drivers...
here are my better runs, notice a back to back identical MPH.

Nice! I'm running the event in KS in a couple weeks in my 19 Z (M7 as well) and am in the same predicament with tires as you. What rear rim size and offset are you running? I've got 19x13 et56 arriving just in time Monday from Signature but was worried the 355/30/19 v720s would rub based on what Khoa said he's seen on other C7 Z06s. I was thinking about R555R2 in the rear just to get a 345/30/19 back there which should fit better with the offset. Those should give better traction on the launch but not sure how they'll perform on the street. No perfect options unfortunately!

Thank you!!
I run a 12/19 wheel, and the 355s fit nicely, not sure on offset...

You're pushing a bit above 700 whp, what about torque? Do they hook well from a 50-60 roll? I was looking into these tires but was unsure. They're not that expensive and seem to be in stock often.

Nice going. Those results looked like more than just a 45hp difference.
You seemed like a more "competent" driver than the ZR1. lol

Do you mean 720 ACR tires? Because there is a 700, 720, 720 ACR, and 730. You said new so I'm not sure if there is a new one they came out with recently.

Thanks, he was NOT a newbie, and does have a few vettes... Maybe the Torque is a bit higher as well, and yes, I've got lots of practice rowing thru the gears on this car, if you notice, I went back to back identical MPH...

Damn the TORCO girls at NFZ Arizona don't look like that
Great runs...can you share your list of mods that get you to 720rwhp?

Nice vid Joel, basically the same results I had with my car but I'm a little lower on power at 708.
I'm just getting into looking for rims & tires, I put a ton of miles on my car, how do those tires hold up milage-wise?
