Need some help/input. Just ordered a set of ferrada wheels. Looking for tires now. I ordered 20in frt & 20in rear setup. It seems as though it is not easy to find 20in frt and 20in rear setup for wheels. The company I bought the wheels from has Nitto INVOs just not sure if those are the best tires. Any recommendations as to some good wheels to go with or a certain brand that would be good to go with? I don't take the car to the track it is more driven on the weekends/ highway driving and around town. Thanks
I prefer Michelins. Other favorites on the board include Continental and Bridgestone. I'd suggest that you get on the Tire Rack site and see what they have available that will fit your wheels.
Michelin are not the best but better than the rest! I always shop for Michelins but my last set was a 70000 mile tire and are worn out at twenty thousand. I have had cracking of side walls with as little as ten thousand miles. So buy a extended warranty if you can. How do you pro rate tires with twenty thousand miles. Another quick thing to do buy them local for better service if you have problems!

Invos are OK for a Waxer/Cruiser. If you want to experience some cornering Gs not so great. From a tire selection standpoint, the best thing you can do is drop the front wheel diameter down to 19 inches if it isn't too late.

Curious, what 70K mile Michelin’s did you use that fit our Zs? Unaware of any myself.

That's a good question.
The Super Sport ZP, A/S 3+ZP an 4S models all have a 15,000 mile warranty on our cars given different tire sizes front to rear. The standard warranty is 30,000 miles.
Appreciate all info. Looking at michelins and continentals working with tire rack and discount tire for further info. Anyone hear of speed rating on a tire needing to be 94 or higher?
(Y) is the speed rating you want. The service description usually includes the speed rating such as:
(94Y) or (99Y)
Y = up to 186
(Y) = 186+
At some forms of competition you are required to run a speed rating at least equal to the OEM tires to pass tech. The OEM tires are (Y) and having that rating gives you some flexibility should you decide to compete. I haven't run into that requirement at the drag strip.
Tx Lefty, the reason I ask is because some of the tires I found have 93y speed rating. When I talked to the person at tire rack he didn't sound to confident in that speed rating and suggested I stay with the same as stock which is the 94Y for frt and 99Y for rear. Curious to see how hard it is to find tires with that rating.
The speed rating is the letter. I was trying to impart that there is a difference between Y and (Y). The car comes with tires that have a (Y) speed rating.
Y = up to 186
(Y) = 186+
There are not that many Y or (Y) rated tires on the market because not a lot of cars have a use for them and they are typically expensive.
unfortunately it is too late. Already on their way.
I’m in the same boat as you as I too have a set of 20s front and rear and trying to find tires..
the Michelin pilot 4s has a diameter on front as listed above that is basically the same dimensions as our stock 285-30-19s..
but if a 285-30-20 tire which is 1” in diameter larger than stock would fit and not rub, it opens up a several more tire options such as pilot sport ss, cup2s and a bunch more..
I have been searching for days and can’t seem to find anyone who has went to that size diameter on the front. Either it doesn’t fit or I’m just not finding the answer..

An entire one inch larger diameter tire isn't gonna work, don't even bother. Some people seem to think there's just tons of room under there..
there is, until you start turning the wheel or go over bumps haha
Thanks brother, I was reluctant to buy them and be wrong as they are not cheap..The front does look extremely tight when the wheel is turned...
thanks again you saved me a grand in what would have been wasted money...

Yeah look up the diameter of the stock tires and stay as close as possible to it. I learned the quick way how little of an increase results in rubbing in various spots.
