My OE battery on my 2017 Z died. I've put a new battery in, but neither of my FOBS are recognized. I went through the entire long process to program them and neither will work still. The batteries in both FOBS are new. Any ideas on what's wrong?
Wow, BOTH new FOB batteries were bad! I had another package of batteries and decided I'd see if it would help (not expecting it to), and both FOBS now work. I didn't think the ones I put in were all that old, but I guess they were!
I got a new FOB and had no problem programing it , did you read how to program it in the owners manual? If you follow that procedure it will work ,I did it and I didn't have to take it to the dealer like some people were telling me I had to do .I hope everything works out .

I'm amazed how poor the quality of batteries are now! Car batteries only hold up for a few years, and new batteries right out of the package for small components are too often already failed! Doesn't say very much for the future of electric cars that are solely dependent on battery quality and lifespan! OP, glad it was an easy and quick fix once you sorted the new/dead FOB batteries!

It certainly was strange to me that the car battery and both fob batteries died in the same 3-monrh span. The car was on a CTEK, too.

We keep everything on chargers too and the batteries still fail way too soon. I think EPA restrictions and production changes have killed their performance. Hopefully newer designed lithium batteries are going to be an improvement but I’m not holding my breath just yet.
