Default Ceramic Brake Question

I have a 2019 Z06 and I wanted to know are the OEM ceramic rotors and carbon pads interchangeable with my stock calipers?

I asked this question before and was told no. Different sizes.

From what I have researched, just need the CCB calipers, pads and rotors to make this work.

Yes, but you will need to pay closer attention to pad wear (especially inside pad) since there is no brake wear warning system. There are no squealers like the iron brakes have since squealers would damage the ceramic rotors.

Because the diameter of the rotor is also different, the hub where the caliper mounts will also not work.

This is not correct, from what my research has shown. the CCB caliper is different and is what determines if it can mount to the hub, and it will. You only need the CCB Rotors, CCB Calipers, and the CCB Pads. It is a direct bolt over swap with those items.

True, though I have never had a brake tattletale let me know my pads needed to be changed. I check my pads every time I pull the wheels off of the vehicle.

Bill,

Any idea what would be required to retrofit the sensors to a ‘16 Z06 (Non-Z07 obviously)?

A cheaper option would be to run the ceramic calipers with steel ccb diameter sized rotors and track pads.

You would need to add the wiring harness that runs to all 4 corners of the car and then program the EBCM and maybe the BCM to recognize there is a sensor to be monitored. Here is the schematic for the system:

Of course those wires don't run independently. They are included in a couple of large wiring harnesses that run the length of the car,

So the caliper is made to work with the larger disc size, rather than requiring new mounting hardware. I suppose that makes things very simple for anyone who wants to do this.

So would a stock Grand Sport/Z06 rim fit a car with the Carbon Brake package?

Yes, the wheels are the same sizes on those cars. Z51 cars have the ceramic brake option too, not sure immediately what size wheel/tire combination they have though.
