I use the Escort Max 360. No radar detector is gonna save you from a cop you don't see hitting you with a laser, but this one has definitely alerted me to them being used.
These days, with cars sporting lane-warning systems all over the highways, the most critical thing is weeding out false alarms (and/or being able, via GPS, to have your detector permanently ignore a known non-LEO source.) Otherwise, it all turns into a sort of annoying white noise you either shut out or shut off!
I would definitely look into Radenso. I have one and it meets my needs. They get very good reviews and usually win "value" ratings...
1.) Uniden R7 with WAZE
2.) Escort Max 360 with WAZE
3.) Valentine 1 Gen 2 with WAZE
Those are the popular one due to the ARROWS showing where the threats are coming from. WAZE app can confirm or spot areas where they’re just sitting at. All the newest radar offers BMS Filtering (Blindspot Monitoring System). Through firmware updates the BMS filters are getting less noisy. I’m also in California and I turn off all bands except for KA for CHP.
I have Valentine 1 Gen 2 running JBV1 application on my cell phone. Its a great combination since you can control all aspects of the V1G2 through the application and make custom edits. JBV1 does crowd sourcing much better than WAZE so no need to run WAZE. I just came back from a 2000+ trip and it worked flawlessly (in VA I was able to turn off all the lights coming from the V1G2 and just show warnings on my phone).
Instant on and laser it will not save you. Hopefully crowd sourcing will help in those situations.
I used blendmount and wire tap to connect the V1G2 to rear view mirror.

Escort also has an app that makes it a little more accurate. Someone had a list of settings you could use on the device to filter out a lot of extraneous noise. Along with that I tend to turn the volume down on anything but Ka and Laser.

This exactly. Most H2H tests rank them this way. #4 would be the Uniden R3 only slightly behind due to the lack of rear facing radar detection like the R7. Paid $429 on Amazon back in Dec 2020, but the price is up to $499 now. Positive you can find one for less.
Few days ago I was driving my C5, I was under the red light stopped , I picked up my phone to check incoming text, I didn’t notice cop next to me on the motorcycle,
I got hit with 391 dollar ticket,
If I had the damn radar it would if told me there is cop near me,
Escort Max 360C on a blendmount with Waze had a valentine like a hundred years ago and Uniden used to make cordless phones right? lol I have had great results with Escort for years..

Escort Max 360 all the way.. 1Yr Ticket reimbursement also. .Saved me literally thousands now.. Laser you are generally screwed although it will pick up bounce / scatter and warn you pretty quick.
Most cops are lazy at night and you can pickup signal for at least a mile out! Even if it's pulse mode!
Highly recommended! Plus it learns as you go over time eliminating false signals!
The directional arrows are great for seeing whether he's in front or back of you.. Sides really only work at stop lights..
Hey guys, does any one of you use radar detector in your vette?
if so what brand is the most reputable?
those cars performance is unbelievable fast I would like to get a radar detector.
have had passport 9500ix for years.blendmount attaches it to the mirror.no wires dangleing.once you have one you will be amazed all the cops it picks up that ride around with radar on all the time.
Most police here in SC are running Ka 33.8. The Escort performed dead last here and was consistently 400 to 800 feet later to signal radar across all bands of Ka. For K band (which almost no one uses) it was also 800’ behind the Uniden or nearly 3 football fields. In fact it couldn’t beat the old Valentine Gen 1.
The Escort also finished last in Car and Drivers test back in May 2021.
Depending on where you live the selection may be somewhat limited. For those living in a location where RD's are illegal you need to get a detector that doesn't emit it's local oscillator frequency. An Escort Redline is one such detector. States that use radar detector detectors sense this frequency. The Redline detectors also have long range detection capability.which is really useful if you do high speed runs on roads like empty interstates.
I have an older model Redline and have sat right next to a VA state trooper using a RDD without triggering his Radar detection equipment..

Escort 360 has a lot of great reviews on Amazon.
Depends. If he's not actively sending out signals he could've just as easily still rolled up on you even with a radar detector.
