Does anyone know if the heads have to come off for a cam install?

I plan on camping my zo6 in the spring and yes the heads most definitely have to come off. From what I've seen, the whole motor most likely has to come out as you have to remove the oil pan for the DOD delete as well and be stripped down to a short block. Not as easy as caming a LS motor.

When I put my cam kit in I pulled the engine from the car. It is possible to replace the cam with the engine in the car by lowering the cradle a few inches and separating the engine from it. Then raise the engine as much as possible and remove the pan. People do it every day. You have to get longer cradle bolts to do it.

No. Or at least the first time mine was done they didn't pull the heads.

I'm reading you need to pull the heads because the lifters have to be replaced?

Sorry, I didn't think so. That's been a long time ago and I'm getting to be an old man.
