Hi, I am considering installing a meth kit for my 2019 Z06. Current mods (KONG ported blower with 2.3 pulley, Soler TB, AFE CAI, AWE X-pipe with AFE tour axle back exhaust, ARH headers with upgraded GESI cats (to be installed))..Have had it tuned, not sure if headers require another tune (but most likely will have it re-tuned) once installed. Question is, what are the pros / cons of installing a meth kit (50/50 system)? I would like to install the tank in the trunk cubby with either a SNOW or AEM system to complete, I assume this will def need a tune, so would like to do in one shot, but not 100% sold on meth so thus my question. Feedback appreciated.
You should have it tuned after the headers because the airmass calculations will change and can change fueling and spark. Sometimes tuners will "complete" the tune so that such a small change would be compensated for but that is an unknown without seeing the file.
As for Meth, you will gain power for sure on Meth, especially if you're running 93 octane pump gas. Technically the tune for meth depends on how much you spray. If you do 50/50 you wont richen up the fuel too much but it wont cool as good as pure M1 meth. But if you spray 100% meth you will richen up the fuel quite a bit.
I would recommend having the car tuned to run on the leaner side (but still safe if the meth system fails) after the headers. Then add the meth system and spray a single nozzle with a larger jet or a dual nozzle with smaller jets so that your final lambda is about .78-.80. This will give you the most cooling without sacrificing power being too rich or being in danger of being too lean if the meth system fails.
