Hi there, I have a 2018 z06 with only 15,600 kms and battery seems to be dead.
I stored it every winter and use a trickle charger (provided by gm) but never seemed to quite charge it fully.
It did start 1x when took trickle off, but then I placed battery charger on it and it won't charge, tried a noco genius charger and that noeth will charge anything.
Does this me a Only after 15,000kms i need a new battery.
Any help will do. Car won't turn over, well it does but it just Continues to tick tick tick
Miles really don't mean anything to kill a battery, but the time definitely does...and sadly 4+ years is a pretty typical life for a battery these days. I'd pull it (since it won't start) and take it to get tested...and prepare to buy a new one. My preference is an AGM Interstate battery for a replacement.
I had a similar issue as I was pulling mine out of storage. When I did pull the battery and had it tested (only 2 years old), they said it was still good and recharged it up. However, I put it back in my vette, and a week later was dead again. Decided to go ahead and just buy a new batter as I didn't want to be stranded. I just purchased it in the fall, which prior to me, it was didn't get much driving (2400 miles on a '15), plus was transported from FL to IA, so a lot of time that it didn't get charged. I am going to have the dealer look at my GM trickle charger to see if it's still good so hopefully next winter I don't run into this again.
The average life of a battery is 3-5 years, so you are good. Occasionally you get an odd one, that goes in a year, or lasts 10+ years...but those are not the norm. If one is ever run completely dead, then that reduces the life substantially.
