Default New range device to replace AFM
I recently bought a 2016 Z06. Looking for information on a new range device to replace AFM. Is this a good idea or not?

Yes the Range device works as intended, I had one on my 2015 until it was tuned.

Very easy installation, just plug it into the port and it does the rest, no more V4 mode. Best $200 investment you can make on any GM vehicle with AFM. But if your car has a manual transmission, you won't need one, they only go into 4 cyl mode when you put it in eco mode, very much needed with an automatic transmission.

must have for auto.be sure to only buy from range website.fleabay and amazon might have knock offs that dont work.

Some have said that it might also help eliminate the "Shudder" issue that happens when the car goes to four cylinders from eight. A known problem with some A8's.

Owners Manual on my manual 17 says its only activated in econ. mode. Is this activation mode apply to all modes on an auto car?

No issues with the M7, only A8, could happen in any mode.

A8 cars can for into AFM/DOD mode in Touring, Sport and Snow/ice. Less likely to go into AFM mode in Track.

Wow that sucks; another reason to buy a manual,J/K I would venture a guess that the range device is a must-have if you have an auto.

I guess, or tune it. I rarely ever saw the AFM kick in on my 19 C7Z, but I also didnt baby it when I was driving it.
