Default Cruise control problem

Hello dear experts,

I am having trouble with my cruise control that doesn’t active when I push the button. With the OBD scanner I see P0580 error. I already tried to disconnect the battery. Does anyone experienced the same problem?

Press the cruise control on/off switch first. It is a rocker switch on the steering wheel above the RES/+ button. You should get a white indicator on the instrument cluster. When you press SET/- and engage cruise the indicator should turn green and the set speed should display. You can then press the X button to disengage cruise without losing your set point.

P0580, P0581
􀁺 The ECM detects an invalid voltage signal on the cruise control switch signal circuit.
􀁺 The above condition is present for greater than 2 s.
􀁺 The ECM runs this diagnostic continuously.

I don't see any fuses specific to cruise control, but there are fuses in both front and rear fuse panels labelled ECM or Engine Control Module. I would check each one.

Probably I explained me not well. I know how to use the cruise control system. But mine stopped working. The switch that activates the system didn’t work

Yes, I understand that cruise used to work and you know how to use it.

I assume that you do not get the white or green indicator.

That's why I included the details on the error code and fuses.

Good Luck!

Low voltage - it is time to check fuses and connectors for an open circuit.
