ok looking at 2 z06/z07 cars both rebuilt title cars. yes I know but its what is the best bang for the buck. so moving past that, what car would most think is the better buy?
2015 c7 z06 /z07 3lz arctic whits with grey interior chrome wheels bone stock 6k miles. car has over 10k in mod parts in boxes waiting to go on the car. just about everything to make 900 wheel. 58k$
2017 z06 /z07 torch red black interior with 27k in options, alcantara interior, stage 3 aero in carbon flash , matte black wheels 14k miles 60k$

2 different shops both within 8 hrs driving to me to pick up.
love the 17 has tilted bricks, apple CarPlay and front /rear cameras and red. but no mods and I planned on at least 700 wheel
15 is a common color grey and leather but mods for days and im a wrench at heart.

looking beyond the title what car would most buy? im truly torn here! my belief is the z06 is a great car but at 30k units built it wont ever be an investment car unless its a rare 3 digit mileage car. so im not concerned at all about the rebuilt title. both cars inspected in each state and passed

Be aware it can be difficult or expensive to get insurance for a car with a rebuilt title (state inspected or not) - I would check on that before proceeding.

As to the two cars - I feel the 2017 was a worthwhile improvement.

insurance is no issue already confirmed that. I know the 17 has front camera, apple CarPlay, tilted bricks and bigger lid but as far as upgrades thats it for the car. the 15 was 105,500k in 15 the 17 was 107k mainly due to price increases in the factory option packages and the 500$ base cost increase.

No way I would drop $60k for a car with a rebuilt title, but it's your money. I would likely pick the '15 with lower miles and all the mods.

see my feelings are theres no way I would drop 80k on a clean title car . I have no issue with the title since there isnt any investment value in these cars just to many made. now my c6 zr1i had would be a different issue with only 4500 or so made. but im leaning heavily on the 15 since ill be drag racing g the car anyway, and the mod list of parts goes on for days. I appreciate the input

I get it, I wouldn't pay $80k for my car either. I got it before prices went crazy. If drag racing is your primary use for the car I would lean hard towards the '15. Also, it's easy to change the color with a wrap these days.

have plenty of fotos from the wreck and the repairs for both cars. not worried in the least. nice thing about a vette is its basically a kit car in that every panel can be removed and replaced, front frame rails are designed to break away and are available to reweld in , and short of frame/ tub, a pillar or firewall damage (which neither of these have) it be removed and replaced with new oem or used oem parts to full safety.

You want opinions? You came to the right place!

Ignoring my opinion on the salvage title thing:

For me, I would buy the ‘17, since I would not mod the car for more HP. I leave my C7 alone, and satiate my “mod” hunger on my ‘79 Camaro.

For you- since you want to mod the car for 700 WHP, the ‘15 sounds like a better deal. But that’s assuming it’s “real mods” like pulleys, headers, fuel system upgrades, E85 kit, and not just a CAI, fu fu air filter, cat back exhaust, tune in a box, etc.

What are the mods that come with it ?

Good luck and send us pics when you pull the trigger.

Every year newer on these cars is "better"

I have a 16 and wish I had the tilted bricks, but mine is mainly a track car.

i8 dont disagree but already have the taller lid and on the lookout for tilted bricks. once I fin d them the blower goes out for port work so either car will have them installed

With that list of mods and 2k cheaper this is a no brainer for me. Take the extra 2k for the '17 and wrap the '15 in a color you like better, or use it for the blower port.

I was going to say 2017 for sure, lots of improvements from 2015 to 2017 , but then I saw your post about modding it and drag racing it only, then I guess it does not matter really. The 2015 is missing a lot of the features the 2017 had, but you won't miss those if your only drag racing the car.

With the list of parts that come with the 15 ......... no brainer. Like you said, its not an investment being a rebuild. However, the added parts & big power will catch someones attention when you go to sell it. Yes, many here do not appreciate the modded vehicles. Many do ... especially if it was done properly.

For me, this is a fun luxury that I intend to drive & make me smile ( not measure ROI ). Get the 15 ... put that parts to good use & SMILE !!

Note: I have a 15 ZO7 3LZ. I had a front camera installed LOVE IT

2017 is when GM addressed the overheating issues. I would go with the 2017.
