Default DSC controller zo6 feedback

Hi, was considering this upgrade for my 19 ZO6 (MT) this spring. Looking for feedback from anybody who has installed and driven. Primarily street car with about 700 RWH, and will see an occasional track day (road course). Installation seems pretty straight forward, any tips there appreciated. Thanks!

I've had one in a 2017 Z06 for 4 or 5 years. Installation is really easy. Be sure to get a usb cable to connect to the unit so you can retune it without going into the fender well. You can either run the cable inside the cockpit or under the hood. In my case it's it coiled up next to the clutch reservoir. To change anything it's simply uncoil the cable and hook it up to a computer which contains the DSC software. Takes about 2 minutes.

thanks for the info. What's your thoughts on the unit itself?. Worth the 1400 bucks?

I'm happy with mine, but I'm happier not having paid retail for it. Unless the money is burning a whole in your pocket, they come up for sale from time-to-time. (Mine was less than 60% of retail, from another forum member who sold his C7.)

I recently moved from a 2015 Z51 with custom suspension and shocks to a stock 2016 Z06/Z07. I didn't love the magride shocks in either autocross (where they are too slow to stiffen) or road courses (where I felt that they were abrupt). I bought a new DSC controller and installed it and the car drives much better in both Auto-X (where it still lags top end Penske's and JRi's) and especially on track days. Despite that, it actually is better on the street now than it was with the stock controller. More compliant, but also better controlled when it does move. I would highly recommend!

I love mine and have been using it for about 6 years in my '16 Z06. The shocks are much more responsive and the car is a lot more controllable and predictable when the rear tires break loose. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

understand the company will have ZERO SUPPORT for any used unit bought. they simply dont care enough about you or their product to support used units. if you buy one its without any dsc support

This is true. Sold my '17 GS with the DSC controller and it crapped out on the new owner after about 4K miles of use. He contacted them and they offered no help at all. Basically told him to FO. I now have a '19 Z06 but I would never buy one again from them for that reason.

for your case use I think it’s a waste of money. The 2019 mag ride calibration is good. Unless you feel the car is too stiff or too soft. I had a 2015 z51 I used one on. I could never get it to where I liked it. Went back to oem.

I actually went to the shop that created the DSC Controller. They are here in MD and they said the way the DSC controlller should be used is with stock height. I asked them if I was to lower it would the DSC still be fine and they said yeah but then they wouldn't install it cause they perfectly dialed it in based on stock height. They designed it specifically for the factory height and they said the the C7 factory height setting is the most optimal for drag and road course. The shop primarily does Porsche's and Lambos....its a legit race shop. I saw nothing but Porsche's....I meant to ask how they end up designing DSC for a Vette if they mainly do Porsche's. I just have jumped on it to spend that kind of money and be disappointed with it.

Default Mag Ride Update through GM

As an alternative to the DSC controller, take a look at the mag ride suspension calibration update offered through GM. I just took delivery of a 15 ZO6 with the ZO7 package and plan to have the calibration performed soon.

Here's a good read regarding the details of the calibration.

And, the cost is less than $400.

just had this done on my 2017 z07. the difference was massive! tour mode is such a huge change from the crashing feeling every time I hit a bump. car used to feel unsettled all the time now is very planted and comfortable. it may not be as adjustable as the dsc controller but for the vast majority of owners its a huge improvement doesn't cost much compared to the dsc and the support is as huge as the difference in ride since dsc basically says screw you if you dont buy a new unit from them. oh and the shop I bought the car from did the upgrade at no charge!!

Same here. I did the factory update to my Z07 2015, but I havent tried the DSC to compare, I just cant justify the extra expense if the OEM recalibration is doing great.

I've spoken to them a few times. They were helpful at first but then they said I was out of warranty and Tom would not even respond to my emails whatsoever.
The kid (and Tom early on) on the phone said everyone quit there and they are severely understaffed. Tom basically saod he was doing everything there now.
Jeremy, who was SUPER helpful, is long gone.

I thought that this software update was already built into 2019s?
