Default Track Maintenance.

We have had our automatic Z07 for a little over a year now and have done many track days. We have changed the brakes (girodisc iron conversion and pagid pads), brake fluid (castrol SRF), and oil. The car has had all dealer-installed overheating upgrades last year as well (This has almost completely fixed overheating). I also own 3 2020 GT500s, a GT350, and a couple MX-5 racecars. I've changed the rear diff oil in the mustangs yearly according to the track maintenance schedule. Does the Z07 require diff fluid change or transmission fluid flush if tracked often? If so, are either of these items user serviceable without a major teardown? We do our own fluid changes on all of the other cars. We even do our own tires, I have a COrghi touchless changer and balancer.

The OM states the diff fluid should be changed after the first track event and subsequently changed after every 24 hours of track time.

I tend to change both the M7 transmission and diff fluid after about two days of tracking. It’s not a difficult job at all. Like most modern vehicles, there is no “dipstic”, so it just requires pumping the fluid upward into the fill plug hole unt it starts to dribble out. Not difficult at all. One of the diff plugs is in a limited space location, but it’s not bad. All of these plugs are regular 3/8” drives.

The OM has the intervals. Diff is every 24 track hours, transmission every 15 track hours. No need to flush or bleed anything, just drain and fill.

You learn something all the time. Even though I have copies of all of the C7 model year OMs I didn't catch the change in transmission fluid replacement that came during MY 2018. Previous OMs mentioned the diff 24-hour requirement but didn't mention a 15-hour requirement for the transmission.

I guess I better change mine since after seven seasons of tracking my 2015 I have at least 6K track miles on the original transmission fluid and a hell of a lot more than 15 hours of track time. Luckily, the transmission is still working fine, shifts with ease and doesn't make any unusual noises.
