Hey Guys, it looks my DSX Fitting into the gas tank is leaking. It will randomly seep a bit through. I must have tapped it weird or at an angle as I did it no problem on my old 6th Gen Camaro. What have you guys done to fix this? So far I have currently tried seal-all and JB Water Weld. The JB Water Weld holds for a bit and then it eventually seeps through. I have about 3 threads showing left. Do I pull the fitting out, clean it, and try to go just a bit further?
Let me know what you guys have done to get this fixed.
The only way I've seen if fixed and actually stay fixed is to replace the tank fitting with one that has a larger outside diameter but the same inside diameter. Just go up one size on the outside diameter. Clean hole with tap, but don't make it bigger if you don't have to. Re-install with lager outside fitting.
Its a pipe fitting, so the further you thread it in the better it should seal. Did you use the greenish/blue pipe sealant on the threads? Make sure everything is clean, use the sealant and thread it in deeper. If it still doesnt seal, then I would consider using a bulkhead fitting, but that will require you to access the inside of the tank

i had the same issue. the shop that installed it used an air craft grade adhesive listed for jet fuel and ethanol. it dry's like silicone and is flexible. so far its held up for one year.
bumping the thread. after a yr or so looks like my fitting is also leaking. not real happy about this may have to pull the tank and drop in a bulkhead fitting

this is the brand that was used on mine. Not sure exactly which one but reviewing the data sheet it sounds like the one. This stuff has held up since my post. Drys like rubber. https://nslaerospace.com/products/ns...-tank-sealant/

awesome. cleaned the fitting up and the gas and oil resistant jb weld is peeling off so im sure its the fitting that is leaking. ill order som e of this today and try it out. REALLY dont want to drop the tank for a bulkhead fitting

try seal all. I never had a corvette tank leak but the Camaros were an issue. I used seal all and worked very well.
so learning as I go through this. seems I used my own tap instead of the dsx tap which is marked for depth. my guess is I tapped the hole to deep for the tapered thread.
as im waiting on the new adhesive I ordered a 1/2 not -an6 fitting. will retap the hole and not go as deep hoping this and new adhesive fixes the issue. last resort will be to drop the tank and use a bulkhead fitting. (this is a major ordeal and isnt what I want to do!!)

It was a huge pain in the *** for me too. I ran into the problem shortly after purchasing my car used. I didn't know it had the system installed.
Anyways, long story short, I contacted DSX, and they recommended Seal All also. I don't drive the car often, but it has held up well over the past 2 years.
Now I am having issues with the actual hose leaking at the fitting that connects to the unit.
interesting part but looking at the shape of the tank where the current fitting is located isnt flat and this may leak.
I went to a 12 not/an6 fitting predrilled and tapped the hole. new fitting is very tight so just waiting on my adhesive and will give it another try. if it ends up leaking ill pull the tank and use a bulkhead fitting to fix it once and for all
so its all buttoned up. not real happy with the new fitting it ends up cutting the hole as large as the taper when installing since its going into plastic with an aluminum fitting. for now its sealed but have little faith it will last. rerouted the line so maybe that will help. in all honesty its a crap way to tap a tank. I see a bulkhead fitting in the near future. pulling the tankisnt a job I want to do but I have seen a couple videos that show it can be done without dropping the driveline and subframe. my only worry is the crossover tube and reinstalling it. that job may be worse than a clutch job!
I have been pondering the DSX fuel system and can not convince myself the tank fitting will be leak free. I wonder how many use the wrong tap?? Dsx tap is NPTF. Not to be confused with NPT tap.

doesnt matter the tap. your screwing in an aluminum fitting with threads into a plastic tank. as you screw it in and it even slightly begins to tighten up the fitting is cutting new threads opening the hole up. it never actually tightens up so you never know when you are going to far. reach the end of the threads its to late. the reason for some form of epoxy to seal the hole. the aerospace stuff I used seems to be working no idea HOW long it lasts but its a huge pain in the con tanner form and stupid expensive. past this ill go the bulkhead fitting route.
the Mighty Mouse version is nice but 270$ and has to installed on the bottom of the tank in the on ly flat spot available. 1 7/8" hole basically its hugs the heat /debris shield has to be cut and modified to reinstall with that unit
