Default Remote Tuner

Hello! This is my first post here. I just created my account even though I have been reading items on the forum for a couple years. I couldn't bring myself to joing when I didn't own the car yet. This past July I came across the opportunity to buy a Corvette. What made it even better is I was able to snag a Z06 for a great price. I never thought I would own this car, so I am pumped. I already had to use a vendor on the forum as I ended up with a cracked wheel. Thanks to Gerry@CW4L I was able to get some Forgelines extremely quick. Now I am looking for a reputable remote tuner or package. My main goal at the moment is to get rid of the AFM on my 18 Z06. It makes the shifting terrible and I heard it can cause other issues. I was told to just get the Range device. However, I just can't justify buying the Range AFM disabler when I am going to get headers and eventually and need the HPTuner device. I have seen packages from places like Paragon who offer the RTD instead of the MPVI3. My understanding is the RTD limits access based on the software it uses. Does anyone have experience with these that can give me a recommendation? I would also be interested in recommendations of reputable remote tuners. I know I will be asked if there is someone local. Unfortunately, not for many miles/hours and with my work schedule it is extremely difficult to get my vehicle anywhere far. I had to drive 2hrs just to participate in a cars and coffee. I appreciate the help.

just get the range used and use out until your ready for the tuning and dod delete. you can always sell the range after and recoup most of your money. I found one for 100$ used on here and its been on my car for a yr now zero issues

Congrats on the Z! I hear Derek Dunbar is a good remote tuner. Greg at Kong Performance recommended him.

I booked an appointment with Corvette Care in Columbus, OH it’s almost 3hrs from me but Ryan was great. He answered all my questions and I feel best not wasting money on a range device. Knowing I’m driving from far away he is going to make sure I’m able to leave same day which is awesome and I wasn’t expecting that at all. They are going to triple flush my transmission and tune out the AFM via an HPTuner. I hear good things about them so I’m hoping for a good experience.

Nice! Hope all goes well. My son and I have c7's currently in the shop getting some mods and a tune that are about 3 hours away from us. Finding a good shop and tuner is priceless to me.
