Trying to prep a bit to make a few passes down the old 1/4 Mile thing… Did some research on Drag radials and rims..
I think I’m down to Forgestars D5 18X12 with ET Streets R in 325/35 18s.. Everything I read so far says that those fit the CCBs and don’t cause issues? Anyone running this setup? Thoughts on spinning the tire off the rim? What PSI are you running them at and what are you launching at?
Car will have minor mods, so nothing crazy power wise. It’s a C7 Z06 M7 with the Z07 package…

I'm using Forgestars on mine. 1 have 1 pair 18X12 with Nitto Drag Radials, these are my cold weather/rain tires. and 1 pair of 18X12 bead locks with Hoosier DR's on them for the strip. I use 21 psi in the Nitto's and 17 psi in the Hoosier's. And, yes, it will spin the tires on the rim if not using bead locks or pins. It usually happens when you pull out of the burnout box. Sometimes on launch.
Thanks, sounds like I should go the bead locks route
Just remember, if the cops in your area are bad about giving car guys a hard time. The bead locks aren't street legal. And you might want to check with who you want to mount them. Some shops won't mount them due to liability issues.
mt dont need a burnout so you wont spin them on the rim. no need for beadlocks if your not making g 4 digit power. the 325 is best suited for a 11" rim to get the best sidewall wrinkle so factor that into the offsets. with an 1" of room to play with keep the tire fully inside the fender well and you wont be tossing rubber all over the paint
for the same price as the forgestars precision_forged can make you a set of 1 piece forged wheels that can match whatever your fronts are
and be warned your m7 will not be happy with sticky rubber off the line. expect dismal 60' times
